It could be useful to encode something to Base64 used in MIME and include that in the notes. This stores any file as text inline. For example I have "rcs-5.9.2.tar.xz.sig" and here it is encoded using a tool (Notepad++)

nope my best solution was to lose what I did (which wasn't much) on mlo5 by finding an automatic backup just before the upgrade and restore that. It wasn't easy but was better than what you suggested in that case. So you are confirming that this is a very bad thing MLO is doing by tricking people
