So your carb problems have been going on sence the mid 80s? Ethonal is less of a problem then most want to admit. Il get off my soap box now and be helpfull. NEVER use rtv in your fuel system, thats probly whats causing the isues. What you need is a good through physical cleaning to track

Sounds like a bad connection. The votage drop between the battery and ignition and the click but no crank all say the same thing. Check the main conections for corision and clean with sandpaper (disposable nail file works verry well too). Also check the wires for the black rot ---Original
