2014-10-07 Thread Mario Percinic

hey all.
I have tapin radio pro 1.6.0.1 installed over here and i'm looking for
he option to make sheduled recording with it because i herd that pro
version supports this feature. However i looked all over the menus and i
can't seem to find that option. Would someone explain in to me how it
works or where is it. Using nvda and jaws as my screen readers.

Question about bass and treble adjustments on high definition audio device

2014-06-05 Thread Mario Percinic

Hy.
I'm running windows 7 64 bit on the hp probook 4535s with high
definition audio device instaled as the primary sound card. With the
sound card there came beats audio, a piece of software that controls the
sound card. However, the software it self is amost not accessible at
all, and when the sound is being produced thru it, it sounds to bassy,
and almost like joint stereo. I was looking for a solution on the net,
and i saw that the other users reported the same issues with the beats
audio, and the suggestions were to use native microsoft high definition
audio device driver instead. When i installed it, now everything sounds
much better, but right now i can only control the amount of boost bass,
i can no longer adjust treble settings to sound more present on my liking.

Any possible solutions?
Thanks.

Best and affordable recorder for mono voices

2012-04-14 Thread Mario

Hi listers,

I'am Mario from Italy, a broadcaster that needs to record dry and mono
voices while outside of the studio.

I've listened to the neil podcasts on Blind Cool Tech, but In these
podcast he often records fx and stereo sources, and I notice that the
voice is a little bit noisy. Can you suggest me a good portable recorder
to record only my voice in mono?

Im thinking to buy an h2n, but is the mono mix feature useful for what I
want to do? and if one exists, can you suggest a microphone that is
valid for that use?

Thanks in advance.

Reaper and volumes with Rea Access

2010-11-23 Thread Mario
Hi, I'am a blind user, and I'am learninng how to use reaper. I produce radio
and video spots, and in these 5 years of work I've ever used Sound forge, that
isn't a multitrack editor, so has some limitations for my work.
On this list I've discovered that Reaper can become very accessible by using
Rea Access, a tird parti plug-in that talks to my screen reader and allows
movements between
tracks, faders, triggers ecc. I've learned how to select, cut, paste, but I
can't understand volumes. Often, for my work I have 2 or 3 tracks, one for
the background music and the others for voices or effects. So I need to put
down the volume of the background music and re incrementing the same volume
when the voice track is finished. How I can do this with Reaper via keyboard
commands?

I've assigned a shortcut for inserting envelope points, but then I can't
understand what I have to do. I don't want to use automation if possible because
I don't have a midi controller, and automating volumes via keyboard can't be
easy, especially if I want to create a gradual shape.

Anyone can suggest a solution?

Thanks!

Latency problem with Sonar7 and safire pro24dsp

Hi, sorry for the cross posting.

A friend has a problem with Sonar7 and a safire pro24dsp. When he sets the

play another time sonar tells that it doesn't support the current audio device.

We have tryed also Sonar8.5, but also in that case, if he moves the latency

We have neen thinking about the firewire that isn't sufficient, we have

Well, for whatever it's worth, in versions somewhere around 5.25, one
could easily read the DB level while recording with Goldwave. I too
am no longer able to do this and plan to write to Chris, the author of
Goldwave, in an effort to find out specifically what settings need to

Hi again Mario.

I had your exact question in mind in explaining the use of the
autogain
feature in GW 5.57. I have never seen a db level indicator on the
title bar,
but I had thought the purpose of the autogain feature was to make the
gain
level uniform throughout the audio file regardless of the varying
sound
levels in the recording. If this is true, the need to know db levels
is
obviated. If not, then I will either have to do some poking around to
see if
I can find a db level indicator. IN my case, most of the video
attributes
are set to blank as a preventive remedy to cure a conflict between
JAWS
and the GW video intercept manager which was causing system tie-ups
after
about 20 to 25 minutes of normal operation. If any listmember all
ready
knows how to access a DB level, please chime in!

Good evening, Mario and List.

The GoldWave autogain function works very well in maximizing and
leveling
gain throughout the audio recording. To effectuate autogain do the
following
1. Type ctrl+a to ensure the entire audio file is selected.
2. Type alt+c to launch the effects menu.
3. Type u (without quotes) for the volume menu.
4. Your first choice should be autogain so type Enter to bring up a
dialog box.
5. In the autogain dialog box you will find a list of 7 preset
options
which include adjust to 50 percent, default, ffast gain update,
maximize
voice with high noise, medium gain update, peak reducer, and slow
gain
update. Select a preset option with the up and down arrow keys and
tab 3
times to preview and listen before making your permanent choice.
6. When satisfied with your autogain preset choice, tab once and
hit
space on the stop preview button and tab to OK and press the space
bar.
It may take a few minutes to reprocess the gain level depending on
your
PC's overall performance and the size of the audio file.

Generally, I find the default option works well at least 90 percent
of
the time.

Good evening, Mario and List.

The GoldWave autogain function works very well in maximizing and leveling
gain throughout the audio recording. To effectuate autogain do the
following

1. Type ctrl+a to ensure the entire audio file is selected.
2. Type alt+c to launch the effects menu.
3. Type u (without quotes) for the volume menu.
4. Your first choice should be autogain so type Enter to bring up a dialog
box.
5. In the autogain dialog box you will find a list of 7 preset options
which include adjust to 50 percent, default, ffast gain update, maximize
voice with high noise, medium gain update, peak reducer, and slow gain
update. Select a preset option with the up and down arrow keys and tab 3
times to preview and listen before making your permanent choice.
6. When satisfied with your autogain preset choice, tab once and hit space
on the stop preview button and tab to OK and press the space bar. It may
take a few minutes to reprocess the gain level depending on your PC's
overall performance and the size of the audio file.

Generally, I find the default option works well at least 90 percent of the
time.

2010-07-25 Thread Mario Percinic

Yes it does, but i see that still you didn't get it what i want.
I would like to be able to read the status of the volume, not hear it, but
read it with the screen reader. So for example, when i play the file or
select part of the file, i'd like to see on what volume is it set, like it
play on the 20 db, or 40 db. I know that sighted users have that option in
goldwave and that it is graphical.

Open goldwave and press f11 to go into the list of the devices. Press

mode and set it on the unbounded. After press ok and goldwave should be able
to record in the unlimited mode, as long as you have space on the hard

Subject: Very urgent help with GoldWave

Hello all,
Please can you help me urgently? I need answers by Monday at the very
latest.
The other night I was doing a recording of a JAWS Tandem session as part
of my project. I use the latest GoldWave (5.55), running in trial mode,
and my system is running Windows 7 Starter. The recording appeared to have
went well, but now I've gone and played back the file, it's only 26
seconds in long, instead of say 15 to 20 minutes!

So what do I need to do in GoldWave to make a more decent recording?
This is sure frustrating as I hoped the recording went well, only to find
out it got ruined somehow.
The reason why I would like ansers soon please is that my deadline for my
project is this coming Tuesday. This is part of my finals at university.

So all help will be very welcome indeed.
Thank you very much. Take care.
From a frustrated Chris.

Broadcasting with a M-audio delta1010lt without mixer

2010-03-28 Thread Mario

Hi list,

I have a home studio where I record voice tracks for broadcasts that the
automation system of the radio where I work mixes with the music.

Now I've to do a live show and I need to know if it is possible to broadcast
without a mixer.

My actual configuration is: m-audio delta1010LT with a preamp connected.
With this configuration actually I can't slow down the volume of the
microphone individually. It is possible via software to slow down the volume
without a mixer, but only with my sound card? I don't want a mixer because I
prefer a direct connetction between the soundcard and the processor,
especially for recording advertisings.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english, I hope that I've have well
explained my question.

Audio question

2010-03-25 Thread Mario
Hi all, I have a question about a distorsion that sometimes happens in my
home studio:

I have a dbx vocal processor connected to a m-audio delta1010lt, and
sometimes when I record from a rode connected to this processor the
registration results distorted. First when I speak to the microphone it's
all ok, but when I press play I ear this problem. So I delete the
recording, record again and the registration is good. This problem was
present also when I used a sound blaster sound card without the processor
and with a different microphone.

Someone can help me to solve this issue?

Re: Another type of unequal sound

2009-11-07 Thread Mario Percinic

Hello.
From the things you explained, it sounds to me that the cd isn't properly
mixed, and there for, that is the reason why you can't hear all parts of the
song how it is suppose to sound. To clarify that, try listening the same cd
on differend sound systems and see if you get the same results. If the end
results are the same than you can do a few of the things. First, if this is
part of the songs which is just vocal parts singing, than you can make part
of that song louder than the rest of it. But, if the vocal part is mixed in
the same time with some other instruments, than probably you cant do much
about it, since you will mess up all the song and you could end up having
very distorted parts which you really don't want.

compressor, found in the effect menu, and from there choose the option,
boost quiet parts and see what happeneds.

Hello.

From the things you explained, it sounds to me that the cd isn't properly
mixed, and there for, that is the reason why you can't hear all parts of
the song how it is suppose to sound. To clarify that, try listening the
same cd on differend sound systems and see if you get the same results.
If the end results are the same than you can do a few of the things.
First, if this is part of the songs which is just vocal parts singing,
than you can make part of that song louder than the rest of it. But, if
the vocal part is mixed in the same time with some other instruments,
than probably you cant do much about it, since you will mess up all the
song and you could end up having very distorted parts which you really
don't want.

Here is how to download a video from YouTube with Free Download

I went to the following URL:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx6Eo6liyCg

Hit h for headers until you get to related videos

Arrow down to the first link.

With the cursor on the link hit the right mouse button, numpad *.
Arrow up until you hear Download Video with Free Download manager.
Hit enter.

A dialog to create flash video download will then appear
You will hear the URL
Tab once and check the checkbox to automatically convert the downloaded
video to the specified format if you want to download it as something
besides a .flv file. If you want an .flv file leave the checkbox
unchecked

and tab to the OK button and hit enter.

Tab once to the customize button. Enter to set up the first time if you
want

all downloads converted to the same thing evry time.
There will be a list view for whatever format you want. mp3 is at the
bottom

of the list.
Tab and it asks to change the size of the video. Since we are doing mp3
it

doesn't matter where this is set.
Tab and select the quality.
Tab and there wil be a checkbox to check if what you have done is to be
the

default.
Tab to OK and hit enter
You will then be back to the original dialog
Tab to OK and hit enter.

The download will then start. A window will pop up showing the info
about

the download.

I don't know if this link actually lets you download. Some videos may
not be
downloaded. It gave me the title of the piece but didn't do anything.
It is
still listed on the FDM program. But these are the steps to download
the

videos that you can download.

The two best ones are MP3Tag by Florian Heidenreich, which is free,
and MP3 Tag Studio, not free but cheap, by Magnus Brading. They each
have their strong points but essentially do the same things, plus or
minus a feature here and there between them. The biggest thing that
MP3TAG does that Studio does not is that you can use it to look up all
the information about an album via amazon.com and have that
information automatically added/imported to the tags in your files.
MP3 Tag Studio's strongest features lie in its list processing
capabilities--it can make lists, make Excel CSV files, process lists
to tag selected files, etc. Both absolutely required tools in any
serious MP3 collector's arsenal.

Randy,

Since you've not used a burner till now, and since you're only backing
up MP3s, and since it doesn't seem as though you're gonna be using any
DVD burning software in the future, why not use a trial version of a
reliable well known burning suite such as Nero. There's lots of info and
audio tutorials for Nero 6, 7, and 8.

Hi.

No need, really.

you can visit

http://www.keepvid.com, plug in the url and download it as an mp4 file,
which will play in Winamp.
note the legality of said site is unknown so if this gets me in trouble,
I'm sorry.

Could someone tell me what the default settings are in the Auto-cue menu
of GW5.5?
I have changed some of the sensitivity settings and want to restore to
original.

Cheers

Freeverb is now completely missing from my Goldwave 5.51. I put in the
Direct X plug in and even tried re-activating Freeverb but it still isn't
showing up anywhere. Anyone have a clue?

N-track studio 6 accessibility

2009-05-11 Thread Mario Percinic
Hey all. Did anyone tried to use n-track studio 6 for professional editing
and multi track recording and how it works in terms of accessibility in
combination of midi tracks and audio.. Is there something which someone
found inaccessible? I saw on the website that it is accessible and that
icons should be disabled from the preferences, but when i disabled it i stil
couldn't see the menus as they are shown in the standard windows
applications.

Thanks for all the info.
Mario
