Hallo all! Continuing the thread, I digged out the slides that I shot using my MZ-M. The exposure seems quite accurate. However, in two cases, it overexposed the frame. This is happening probably because 2-segment multipattern metering is close to centerweighted metering. To check this point

David, this sounds like bad news. The mechanical aperture coupling on your PZ-1p appears to have shifted. Exposure should be affected with all manual lenses. However, it should expose correctly with F/FA lenses, as these transmit indeed the aperture value as part of the digital

Coming from manual focus background, I cannot think of any improvement over the MZ-3/5n, except a better viewfinder. The lack of 1/2 stop shutter speeds in full manual mode (no numbers, just click stops 1/2 way in between). Some may also complain about the 2s maximum manual shutter

I think the build quality on the -5n could be a little better. Feature-wise, it's close to ideal. But then if the built quality were better, wouldn't it be a higher class model then? I think Pentax should drop the 5n and made the 3 as affordable as the 5n, things would have been more perfect.

I don't wear glasses and have no problem seeing the MX LEDs in bright sunlight. The displays in the LX and the MZ-S, I find VERY difficult to see when it's sunny. I have found the display of LX is more likely to be disturbed than the MX one. But the +/- 1EV LEDs of the MX is a bit limited
