I've been playing around with some black and white conversions and this
image from 2009 seemed to have sufficient contrast to make an effective
conversion. I'm reasonably happy with the result but comments would be

That was one of my concerns. There were no blown highlights according
to the Levels
I think that now, if any are rejected in the week that they were
submitted, you can upload replacements for the rejected images -- but
not for the ones that were accepted. At least, that is what happened
to me this week.

I agree w/Paul. If you can calibrate the monitor get a match between
monitor and print it doesn't make a lot of difference what tool you used
to get there. I used a Spyder 2 with much success with both WinXP and
Win7 using a relatively cheap ViewSonic monitor printing to an Epson R800.
