I have found the Sigma 10-20 very resistant to flare.
The sun was behind very thin cloud in this shot,
http://rconn.zenfolio.com/p1019193613/?photo=h39448641#960792129 and you can
tell this by the water reflection. I am satisfied :)

I understand this setting simply as a means to disable AF on half press.
Thus, repeated 1/2 presses of the shutter release do NOT cause the AF to
activate, so long as you have the AF button pressed.
Too hard for my simple mind in the opportunistic type of shooting I enjoy so
I do not use that
It is interesting that I gave similar advice to an image for CC poster in
the Pentax List on DPReview.
This got me an immediate strong admonishment from another person who
apparently liked the flat image and who told me that this may well have been
the artistic intent of the OP and that the
I do believe it is out of line.
I had one of this style body back in the early 50's and the lens was
designed to be pulled out to this position from being hard against the mount
- you kept pulling and then rotated it to engage a breech type lock on the
end of the barrel which engaged in a socket
Thanks for some very interesting information

I would suggest the setup and work flow I use.
I carry a battery in the camera (The Pentax original) and a battery in the

I set 'Select battery' in Set-up menu 3/3 to 'Grip First'.
In usage this means that the body battery is ignored and the grip battery
supplies the system.

I agree completely.
They demand perfection from a device rather than practical high quality with
some problems that one must understand for especially odd situations - for
example, do not put a sea horizon on the very edge of the frame in a 16mm

I have one of these and I consider it to be excellent - It has a very good
battery life (important with 2gig cards) and is very fast.
It is not a rebranded anything - it is a USA design from this company

and
20mb/second from a fast CF card which is awesome - that is saving 2gig in 2
minutes - sadly it does not use this DMA function on SD cards but it still
does these in about 7 minutes for a 2gig card and then shuts down so you can
leave it in your pocket saving and grab the card when you need it.

Sadly I think they were optimists as I took identical condition images

I also have one of these - I got the one with the normal straps rather than
the loop ones as these make the assembly too short for my height. I often
like to put my right arm through the strap to stop the camera swinging back

I find it extremely comfortable with my K10D+BGrip
