Well, they do look pleasing to the eye. In particular, the X-cams’ auto-white-balance is frighteningly good, I basically never go near that control in Lr, and WB correction is one place where you can fix things in RAW that you just can’t in JPEG. But yeah, I don’t find the idea tempting either.

I want to automate my backup/conversion flow, and I dont know if you guys have ever run across any tools that do this. Basically I take the images from the file, if they are PEF, I convert them with Adobe's DNG converter, save the PEF files in a negatives directory, back that up, then put the DNG

solution 1: Sort the PEF files into a subfolder. Open DNG Converter, set source to the subfolder and destination to the same folder as the other DNG files. solution 2: Let it do it's thing on all the files, than delete the redundant files with a properly executed wildcard file parameter

Just posted on the Adobe DNG forum: Adobe will release the DNG 2.4 converter at the same time as the final release of the Camera Raw 2.4 plug-in. No announced schedule yet, but it will probably be sometime before the public beta expires (end of Feb).
