Somewhere in the middle of the main mplayer site I managed to find

I have just noted a slight oddity with permissions. If I go to the
terminal and do
ls -l /Users/myusername/Public/scripts/sleeperunix2\ copy
the result is

has solved the issue.

And there is a similar issue for Mac users who don't want to use a Unix
text editor in the terminal.

One thing I noticed (on the Mac, and I have no idea if it is the same
under Linux) is that different versions of mplayer seem to need the
codecs in different places. Two possibilities are /usr/local/lib/codecs
and /usr/local/lib/mplayer

O would very strongly recommend that you disable this, and simply set
the permissions on mplayer to something suitable. admin for Group
should work (it does for me), but if it doesn't then there are other
possibilities to try.

was just me. Changing the group to 'admin' solved my problem,
though I must admit that I didn't exactly see why this worked (maybe
someone with Unix experience can explain) as 'group' and 'other' had
the same permissions, so I would have expected it to run ok as 'other'.

For what it's worth (the sample isn't large yet) I had been driven to
distraction by dropouts on LIsten Again streams, but changing my wifi
channel seems to have cured the problem.
I have no idea what was causing the problem, though.

mplayer.sh is needed, perhaps you can supply it for me,
together with instructions about what to log.
I don't think I've ever seen an mplayer.sh process listed in Activity
Monitor. Perhaps it just comes in under a different name (as one of the
threads in perl or something similar, perhaps).

Panther to Tiger, iT sometimes seems to work fine and sometimes gets
very choppy and even stops. Yhis may well be due to my using a verion
of mplayer produced bfore Tiger came out.

Put the biography plugin into either of the Plugins folders.
Stop and restart SlimServer.

But I don't quite understand the logic of what I did, and would be glad
of an explanation. Also, my solution may help others who have problems.
The permissions were set as Owner (danco) Read and write, Group Read
only, Others Read only (as shown in the Get Info window - a check
click on Add to make it an item in the main menu.
If neither of these suggestions work, maybe a Windows expert can give
some help. The more information one has, the easier it is to diagnose.
