I think I have a problem with this plugin interfering with non-streaming
m3u8 playlists.
The main problem probably is that the plugin would assume that any m3u8
playlist is HLS. Maybe the plugin's use could be limited to assume this
only if the m3u8 file has been loaded from a remote source? O

Hi both work fine.
I think I arrived at the final URL a slightly different way, mentioned
in the original post.
Right click on the game of your choice on the game slider on the BBC
Player and choose "Save Link As". Saves a playlist called
audio_event_stream_065.m3u8 which has the same URL.

I used ipkg to install ffmpeg on my Synology NAS, however the live HLS
stream wouldn't play on my SB Classic. I then checked the Syno Community
packages but there was no ffmpeg package for my CPU. After all that I
discovered ffmpeg was already installed in /usr/syno/bin so I was
wasting my time!
Just to say I followed Castalla's method on BBCiPlayer plugin - a guick
fix guide - the RMTP fix - and it seems to work!

No - the BBC does not put metadata in their stream and it hasn't changed
this was the case before HLS.
R1 uses a BBC service called Radiov
HLS is working successfully on my WHS based LMS - many thanks to all
involved!
Do the BBC HLS feeds carry metadata (program name, graphics, bitrate
etc) and if so is it possible for them to be displayed on a squeezebox?
