mini and OSX from 32bit early machine to newer i5 64bit machine.
Maybe it's time to say goodbye to Softsqueeze. It hasn't been updated
for years, has it? And it never worked as reliably as Squeezeplay to

Has anyone managed to get Softsqueeze attached to the unity menu in
ubuntu. I have it on the desktop and can run it from the desktop but it
is for my wife and she would like it as a menu option.

I installed Ubuntu Tweak and used it's script for creating a desktop
file that the Launcher uses. It has nice features for customizing the
Unity Interface too. I think Ubuntu Tweak is in the Software Center.

I can't test as I don't have win8 but it looks like a java installation
issue since the javaw.exe is not visible.
I think you should look for a more generic Java on Win8 answer as it
sound like Java is not installed but residual files and registry entries
makes Java install program think it is.
