I agree. I gave up on PDF Writer long ago and use Distiller
exclusively now too. You have much more control over output
options and the overall quality of the pdf file seems better.

Greetings all,
I have recently come across a "free" (money required to remove advertising
pop-up) program to generate PDFs. It installs as a printer driver and in the
limited time I've been trying it (acouple of days) it seems to work well.
Its called PDF995 and can be downloaded from www.pdf995
I've never had a problem making pdf's from my schematics. I use a postscript
printer, setup to print to file, then use ghostscript to convert the
postscript to a pdf. The output quality depends on which PS printer you
choose; generally Apple ones are pretty good.
I've got the whole lot running fr
FWIW, we've generally found Acrobat Distiller to be more reliable/accurate
than PDF Writer when handling graphics, both from Protel & other apps.

Just recently I have been getting 'ghost' button presses from my

I've seen this too , although in a weird variation. Just some of the letters
would disappear , so the words had holes . I had to change the font type to
make this go away

This sometime can be related to the outer margin settings. I usually set my outer
margins to as small ass possible, & then,
shrink the auto
Could be simply a bad switch - they are mechanical, not perfect, and don't
last forever.
I have had similar experiences before, and was forced to replace the mouse,
as replacing the switch was un-realistic.

Yuriy,
You could also do a search on the internet for "Screen Capture"
programs. There are a lot of good freeware/shareware programs out
there that let you capture a screen, window or selected portion
of your screen to various graphics file formats or the Windows
clipboard.
I personally use Snag

You really consider $8000US a "fair priced tool" for a package

Damon,
Thank you. It's the best answer, though I feel myself too dumb...
"Export as WMF" doesn't work, give me an "Exception Occured In
PCBPrint:PrintDocument...".
Probably, something wrong with my instaalation, but I don't have time to fix it
now.
Thanks everybody fo you help, but I don't have

Can someone provide me with an examplary script file or macro to
configure the Protel's BOM wizard in Schematic Editor ?. Basically, I want
to create the BOM with my own settings suitable for FAB house.
