Hi John, Our CNC programmers prefer it this way. Draw the exact slot on the mechanical layer 1 and then place text inside the slot on the same layer - something like "rout and remove". TC -Original Message- From: John Girvan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, 11 May 2004 10:24 AM

[PEDA] logo in template does not show

While experimenting with templates in P99SEsp6 I find that an included logo (BMP image) does not always show up. If the Ddb with the templates is open, all is well. If I close that Ddb and keep the design open the logo still shows, but when I open the design the next day (and keep the templates

[PEDA] Renaming Schematic Sheets

I have a schematic sheet (38 of 42) named "38 J1 Connector". Connector J2 was very much like J1 and so got added to the same sheet. Therefore I need to rename the sheet to "38 J1 and J2 Connectors". I also would like to rename all the three references to it on hierarchical sheet reference on

Leo, You might try setting the particular template as a default template. Go to Tools -> Preferences -> Schematic Tab. At the bottom is the Set Default Template. I would also be sure your template ddb is saved in the System folder, ie. C:\Program Files\Design Explorer 99 SE\System\Templates

Peter, I like the idea of including unreasonably small holes to identify center points of slots or cutouts because it serves as an additional reminder to the fab house to read the notes. Too often they are checking many things under time pressure and this prevents missing a note. I usually place

Page 77 of the Designer's Handbook indicates that "graphical images are not stored in the schematic file- only a link to the file is saved with the sheet. If you move your design to a different directory you will need to change the link (double-click on the image to edit the link)." Presumably mo

Having solved this, this is what I did and do. From Protel 98 onwards. I make sure the BMP object in the template has the full path to the file on disk and make sure the file is always in the same place. i.e. C:\images\logo.bmp It has worked and continues to work. The limitation being of you

Jeff, It doesn't seem to matter if you move the ddb outside of Protel. I copied a database to another directory and opened it directly and didn't have a problem. The bitmap graphic came with it. I really believe that the template database has to be stored in C:\Program Files\Design Explorer

Re: [PEDA] logo in template does not show

The problem is that the logo must be in the same folder as the DDB file(s). You will find that if you keep a common folder of all your DDB files along with the logo that it will load every time. If you then go and open a DDB in a different folder ten the next time Protel opens it will have been

Just my 2 cents ... We keep our logo *.wmf file on our network in one location so that it doesn't matter which computer you are using, the logo always appears. Just specify the complete path and that should do it. Although if the DDB is sent elsewhere then keeping it in the DDB should work. H
