I really like the Nestucca River Road. It's one of the quietest ways out, a
lot quieter than 6 or 26. It does feature the biggest climb, but it's a
nice downhill cruise along the Nestucca River to 101. There's also a couple
miles of gravel, which scares off a lot of the automotive traffic.

I know that Jandd is nowhere near as "sexy" as Nitto or Tubus, but I had an

chainstay Long Haul Trucker for years. It worked well. The length of the

Like Robert, I haven't ridden your specific route through Gifford Pinchot
National Forest, but I've ridden near there, to the west of your planned

One thing I wish Wald would update with the smaller baskets is the
reinforcement "bands" they have on the super large Newsboy basket. That way
the thinner tubes wouldn't snap at the connection points. It would make
them heavier, yes, but stronger and longer lasting overall.
