Around the time of the sale, tech support had agreed to send me a new
control stack for a Radian. After a long delay, they did send it, but
were quick to remind me to return the core.

I fully agree that off grid solar has taken a major downturn. Once the
equipment became software based, the reliability dropped. Sure, there
are nice features available with these cyber enhanced systems, but the
cost in reliability makes being energy independent off the grid hard to
accomplish.

If all else fails, cut the equipment ground prong from the attachment

Suzanne finally did get the system working. The problem was in the
programming of the Mate. This was discovered by Outback Tech support

It depends on how many loads there are on the meter main besides the
feed-through. If the PV feed is coming from a point between the
distribution panel and the meter main, current will cancel out utility
power from the service drop.
If you had over 200 amps of branch circuit loads on the meter
AEP Won't let us do a line side tap. We can tap into the line side and
install another service as permitted by the Rule of Six. I have used the
Eaton, 4 space breaker box with 2 spaces for the service disconnect and
2 for the PV connection.
