We had some discussion on another list regarding the legality of
'automatically' rebroadcasting NWS data on an amateur repeater. The rules
clearly allow for rebroadcasting the weather information, but are not clear
on how that can be done. One repeater owner on the list send an email to

Please forward me a copy.
Maybe you can send a copy to Kevin so he can post on on the RBTIP.
Please make sure both have the complete headers.

Just pick up a Micor or MASTR II. With the front end of those tuned to
162 MHz (or even 152 MHz) it will never see your 2M repeater. Or, use a

How long ago was that? The rules were changed around 10 years ago (maybe
a little more). Maybe when you asked that WAS the case. No debate - just
stating a fact.

Been doing it here for 26 years! Plain old vanilla RS weather alert
receiver with a 555 timer connected to a controller port. Works just
fine! Inspected by an FCC field engineer twice, one time it activated
while he was watching his scope!

Leon,
I have a WX-1000 weather radio/controller that I will install at one of
my 2m repeaters in the near future. This unit has more bells and
whistles than I need, and is extremely flexible. Best of all, it does
not need a separate controller. It is fully programmable with a PC.
