I’ve had to scrap the upgrade and revert to a snapshot (I love VMs) from before
I started. Means I’m back to v4.0.8.
Any ideas would be good!

but not having much luck.

I'd go back to the docs relating to configuring the web server and start over.
Your issue is more than likely to do with the above.
