By the way, I am not claiming that the kernel module
handles these CRC errors better than the user space
driver (please let me know if it does/doesn't). I was
just pointing out that it shouldn't be "crashful" now.

The latest CVS version of the kernel module should not have this prob
Try installing the VIA usb drivers under windows. Does that help?
