Email Password Save Within SM 2.53.6

Hello all My issue today is that SM 2.53.6 on a Win 10 Pro it will not 
save all passwords used in the email function on SM.


I must enter it each time for at least one (1) profile, specifically a 
Yahoo mail account.


Any ideas or suggestions to help this?

I have tried in the settings mode for the affected accounts, nothing yet 
appears to help in this.

NetFlix Issue W10 Pro SM 2.53.6

Hello all - having issues with playing films on Netflix.

Each time I try, there is a message which indicates that HTML5 Player 
and Silverlight are required.


Silverlight is installed on my system so is it safe to presume that 
HTML5 is also installed?


Maybe there is an update I missed? I have played films on this system 
before without issue, although it has been a few months since doing so.


Suggestions appreciated.

I think that discussion is in mozilla.general.

Please read the subject again.  It has nothing to do with "can ban".

Individuals who are bummed by the banning can also undertake to create

It may be that the ACLU does not either fully understand or accept TOS's 
that are set by each Tech company. If they do, then they have yet to 
challenge or issue statements to that effect until this recent incident.


Even here on this forum, there are TOS's which must be followed or one 
can be banned, even for life. Can you believe it?


The memo about Parler was sent via news outlets, rather they were read, 
listened to or believed is a totally different issue.

Edit > Preferences > Browser > Display on: Browser Startup > Select 
"Restore Previous Session"?

Hello all - to answer a few questions...

1) Lightening is showing in 'Add0Ons Manager';

2)Now I do see "Today Pane Pane" in the lower right side of my SM 2.53.4 
mail window and it appears to display fine,BUT not as a column, but no 
arrowhead appears, and;


3) As for finding the string, I did not use the leading single quotes 
and when hitting enter, there was nothing showing but a blank area i.e. 
no strings show up - but will try again to confirm.

-> Add-on Manager and, in the left hand column of that screen, select 
'Extensions'


Is Chatzilla showing?? Is it enabled (i.e. is the Disable button showing)??

Verizon Fios Links In eMail SM 2.53.3 W10 Pro

Hello all,

VZ sends links to confirm orders and updates via email.

I find that SM freezes and will not load the associated pages, which 
will open in Chrome.


Is there something which I can do to perform this task?

I do, currently have HTTP 1.1 and Use HTTP 1.1 set in Advanced with 
Identify as Firefox set under User Agent String.

doesn't, you may need to go the route of spoofing, whether using a tool 
that supports that such as PrefBar or User Agent Switcher, or manually 
putting an entry in about:config for general.useragent.override, whether 
globally or for just Comcast.

What's the issue that you need support?

I've been a customer and have never needed support.

I had no trouble signing into my account using SeaMonkey 2.53.3 without 
any extensions on Linux.


Clicked the Support link and the Comcast Customer Service - Xfinity 
Technical Support page opened.

I just changed my provider to Xfinity from Fios and am having an issue 
with accessing Xfinity's Support pages.


I get the message that I must update my browser, despite using HTTP 1.1 
and the UAS in SM to Identify as Firefox.


Is there something more I can do to sidestep this besides using Chrome 
or Firefox?

Hello - looking for some input, if you will. When trying to down load 
email from my main service provider, I almost always get a time out 
situation. Is there a way to increase the time on my side?


I generally do not have this challenge with my Vista machine using SM 2.06.

Question About Synchronizing My Palm w/SM??

Hello,

I have a palm 755p and am looking to change phones to a different 
manufacturer and want to sync the phone to SM before getting a new smart 
phone.


Is this even remotely possible? I have a calendar, address book, and 
memo pad on my current phone.


I can save the info in palm files for the most part, yet wanted to find 
out if there is a SM function for each of them which I can transfer the 
info to and retrieve?

Hello all, not sure if this is the place yet here goes...

I have SM 2.0.4 using Vista business, I have used the following website,

and click on the part of the page which shows On Air Now, I get the 
pop-up for the feed to start. After opening, the message Install 
Missing Plug ins... appears.


This is a recent issue. Any ideas as to what I might have done to incur 
this and how to repair? After all, I do have all the plug ins etc... or 
so I thought as WMP works with other radio stations.

You'll find it more likely for a filter say for sorting to a folder for
an email address is to choose

From: Contains (not match all) and remove all information to the left of
the @,

If a filter doesn't work click on edit and change the rules maybe switch
to: Reply to or To

Or change match all the following to any of the following.

I Am filtering emails from various sources into the corresponding 
folders I set up. i.e. yoga, fax, lending. personal and clients to name 
a few.


I have set up filters by each category named above, then placing the 
parameters rather it be subject, from, to, or body.. I use Match any of 
the following and set to have the messages moved to the appropriate folder.


I Am finding that for messages already in folders, even in the main 
folder, when I click on Tools - Run Filters on Folder nothing 
happens, even if I open Message Filter and run individual filters, that 
does not work to forward messages to the correct folder.


Any other suggestions or recommendations for this?

Yes, it does, although there are instances when it does not, then I go 
back to check the filters and then do either a manual move or click on 
Run Filters on Folder command.

Anti-Virus Suites Compatibility

Hello all, I Am trying to figure out which anti-virus suites work well 
with SM. I Am currently using AVG, which settings are all geared towards 
IE and I cannot figure out how to change that.


Then it came to mind to find out here, who uses what and a consensus is 
on the better suite. I was using Kaspersky, which was fine, I wanted to 
find if something else out there is just as good.

not import or transfer info from 1.1.18 and deleted from my registry 
1.1.18 SM 1.1.18...


Is there any way to go back and get the files from 1.1.18 into 2.0 or 
are they in the abyss???

I figured out by backing up the 1.1.18 files then, upgrading my 
MozBackUp and then reinstalling the back up, that worked.

Mail Down Loading in SM 2.0...

Hello all, I have a serious problem, now, with SM 2.0 on my XP machines. 
Mail is being downloaded up to four (4) times on these systems.


I Am using SM 2.0, which was just down loaded, MS XP Pro sp2.

What is going on here? Did not have this issue with SM 1.1.18.

Losing space on hd every three to four hours and Am tired of having to 
go through to delete emails.

SM 2.0 and Message Filters...

Hello all, my challenge today is with the message filter in SM 2.0 on an 
XP Pro machine.


Each time I go to Tools  Run Filters on Folder the function does not 
work, as expected. I expect that I would be able to filter out messages 
in the folder selected to move emails to the folders in which the 
message filter was set up to do originally.


Nothing happens, no files are moved despite the fact that there are 
mis-filed emails.


Sometimes I can go to a specific filter and run that on the folder and 
it will work, not a majority of the time though.


What need I do to get this to work or function or Am I mis-understanding 
how Message Filtering is to work?

Edit|Preferences|Browser|Helper Applications), but for linux I use
MozPlugger  tiff files render without issue.

I have only needed it once but AlternaTIFF did the job on Windows at
that time pretty fine: http://www.alternatiff.com/

Effectively, this is an IE-only site.  You need the IE Tab extension.
For details, go to the page you cited and select the Listen Live
Online graphic.  On that page, select Need Help? at the top-right.

such was my reference to agent switcher. I did have IE tabs and they no

IE8 does nearly the same, it offers to download instead of playing
directly. Maybe it's the site'S fault.


Your choices (based on Windows Media Format):

- Right-click on a Windows Media Link and select Save target as to
download the file and play it afterwards

- Right-click on a Windows Media link and select copy link location to
copy the address to the clipboard. Afterwards Start Windows Media Player
and select File =  Open URL and paste it there. It will start
streaming the file.

- Open the preferences of SM and open the Helper Applications there.
Select the wIndows Media Audio and selct another action (e.g. download
or always ask)
You may also want to check in about:plugins if your
Windows-Media-Player-Plugin is correctly installed/registered in
Seamonkey at all.

It's important that you tell us what OS you are running, and what
version of SM you also have installed (1.1.x).

Yes, I did not back up the profile before installing the newer version
which came to me after the final click... dumb, very dumb...


2.0 does not overwrite your previous profile. Instead it creates a new
folder. Assuming you use windows (from your headers):
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\SeaMonkey
Your old profile should still be intact at:
C:\Documents and Settings\gg\Application
Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\somenumber.slt

Yes, sorry about not providing that info.. I Am using WinXP Pro, and 
replaced SM 1.1.14 with 2.0A1 beta.


When installing 2.0A1 beta I was asked which profile to transfer, I 
tried to get them both and could not, so I chose my main profile to 
install and not the others.


Thus, my question is still, how can I install the others without having 
to re-invent the profiles etc.. it is possible that I have lost the 
e-mails, book marks etc. associated with those profiles as well.

IE Tabs??

Hello all..

I have SM 1.1.17 and had IE Tabs add on installed. Then it vanished... 
Now need assistance in getting it reloaded, as I need it for media 
player use.


Suggestions and guidance on this from anyone?

Click on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/1419 
and go down to the very bottom version 1.3.3 and click on that to 
install.  That seems to be the only version of IE Tab which works with 
SM 1.x.  At least it works for me.

Close the program.  Go to your profile and delete the .msf file for your

Next time your start the program and access you mail, it will rebuild

will wipe out any customized settins you've made) and go from there.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have done as indicated and now I Am 
getting multiple duplicates of e-mails in one pass and as well, there 
are times when the messages will not open and SM closes down.

then try File, Compact Folders.  Did that help?

If not, then close SM, and delete all the *.msf files. Did that help?

Thank you again for the suggestions. I have completed compacting the 
folders and deleted the *.msf files and still cannot read the messages. 
I also, have looked at the edit  preferences to determine if there is 
something there which might affect the ability to read these messages 
and could not find one.

I wonder if you are now pointing to a different profile. If you have
SeaMonkey open, go to Tools - Switch Profile and see if more than
one is listed. If there are, try switching to the other profile(s) and
see if your messages are there.

Well, the profile is where all the application settings, e-mail, etc.
are stored, and there is always one there.

If you add a new profile, you can see if a bad setting in your existing
profile is causing problems, but I wouldn't expect your e-mail to show up
there, as the e-mail will (should?) be in the original profile.

I think the next step is to look in your profile directory and see if the
e-mail files are there.

By the way, do you use POP e-mail? Do you leave your messages on the server?
The way most people use e-mail, they use POP and download the messages to
their local machine. In this case, each mail folder will be a separate
file under your profile directory.

Are the mail folder files there?

I do use POP e-mail for most of the accounts, in fact it is the only 
format with the account which I Am having challenges, permits.


Also, do you think if a total re installation of SM 1.1.14 would be the 
ticket to correct this?

Streaming Audio Video site etc..

Hello all.. I have a curious situation, after finally figuring out how 
to get WMP 11 to work with SM 1.1.14 on my Vista Business machine, I 
find that other sites such as streamaudio will not work. I Am asked to 
click on the icon to get the plug in.


To be sure, if I remove the dll files installed to get WMP 11 to work 
and install them in another section of SM program files, then 
streamaudio will work as well as websites which use streamaudio.


If I have the dll's in both sections of the program file in SM which 
works, then WMP nor streamaudio will not work.


Which turn did I not make in the installation or how do I go about 
changing these factors to make them both work?

streamaudio.com popup page

... does not fully open or can I say it is restricted to about 1/10 of 
the page size when opened and cannot be increased to view the full page. 
Usually one can click on the box to increase the size, this I cannot do. 
I can only close or minimize the page.


Any ideas as to what may cause this and how to repair?
