Hi,

thank you for info, I will add it soon.

Can you please add info concerning your test environemnt (OS, SM
version, UI language) and whether all these add-ons have been installed
for your latest SM? I remember that I already had the experience that an
addon installed some SM versions worked until I tried to install the
same addon version for the latest version.

Those extensions do work for SM 2.33.1, except there is a small problem
with YesScript 2.1 (no icon). I had to copy chrome.manifest from 2.0
into 2.1 to fix it. I began using most of those extensions with SM
2.20, which is when I began using SeaMonkey.

Philip (the author) already has already made a patched version for

No problem for me with converted Flashblock 1.5.19a in SM 2.33.1.
Silverlight plays fine. I don't have Quicktime installed but I get the
message that additional plugins are necessary to display the page -
which means that Quicktime is not blocked. If it was blocked then there
would be just blank space and no info about missing plug-ins - that is
how earlier versions of Flashblock behave in newest SM versions.

Yeah, it's me who did the mod because Flashblock blocked too much in SM
2.31 and later:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=2896337 - however,
for SM 2.26.1 the regular flashblock 1.3.21 or 1.3.20 will work. Here is
the download link for 1.3.21: http://downloads.mozdev.org/flashblock/

For SM 2.31 and up there is still no official fixed flashblock so the
above modded version is necessary. Alternatively, there is an updated
1.5.19a1 Firefox version, which apparently contains the necessary fixes
- it should work fine in SeaMonkey after running through the converter.

Flashblock 1.3.20 from
<http://flashblock.mozdev.org/installation2.html#current> should work
with SeaMonkey 2.26.1.

Somehow, I installed a version 1.3.21. I am not sure how I got it since
there is no entry for it in the Download Manager list. If you want a

You can use prefbar to turn it (and flash) on & off with a single click.
I created a WebM (it is WebM ot HTML5) button:

{
   "prefbar:info": {
 "formatversion": 3
   },
   "prefbar:menu:enabled": {
 "items": [
   "prefbar:button:webm"
 ]
   },
   "prefbar:button:webm": {
 "type": "check",
 "label": "WebM",
 "prefstring": "media.webm.enabled",
 "topref": "value",
 "frompref": "value"
   }
}

Save that to a text file & 'import' into prefbar. You can then click to
enable/disable WebM.

Thanks for trying, but toggling that setting does not seem to make any
difference. HTML5 seems to behave the same way whether
media.webm.enabled is true or false.

Is there any way to fix Flashblock? It used not to kill Silverlight
completely. Why does it do that now?

There is now a modified version of Flashblock 1.3.21, called Flashblock

What "SeaMonkey versions start with 3.nnn."?? Or do you mean SM 2.3nn,

No, I really meant 3.nnn. The install.rdf file for Flashblock 1.3.21
anticipates a future SeaMonkey version number beginning with 3. Note

I have the PrefBar extension. I created my own button to toggle the
HTML5 preference, which is media.autoplay.enabled. That way, HTML5 is
not tied to Flash.

I just noticed that Flash Block 4.20.13 for Firefox at
<https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-block/> was
actually issued two months BEFORE FlashBlock 1.3.20 for SeaMonkey and
Flashblock 1.5.17 at <http://flashblock.mozdev.org/>. Mote that the
names are slightly different. Flash Block (addons.mozilla.org) and
Flashblock (mozdev.org) have different developers.

There is a new, improved version of Flashblock available.

While I really like PrefBar very much and would have trouble using
SeaMonkey without it, I find that its implementation for blocking Flash
to be problematical, requiring numerous fixes over the years. Instead,
I installed FlashBlock. Then I added a checkbox to PrefBar to enable or
disable FlashBlock. I've never had a problem with this configuration.

1.0 to 2.1a without hacking version compatibility.

Thanks. I don't remember having to do that in v1.x. Sounds like a bug?

Good Lord no, its a feature.

SM 1.1.x lacked any kind of customizable toolbars. SM 2.0 has this
feature, similar to the Firefox and Thunderbird. Flashblock is benaing
exactly as it should, placing its customizable button with all the other
customizeable buttons, allowing the user to make customizations all at
once, rather then opening each extensions preferences, and doing them
one by one.

Yeah, I told the Web site owner and they blame Flashblock extension.

2. Ask the flashblock author (or forum or flasblocks bugtracking system
if there is one) if these videos compared to others are beded in a way
flashblock can't handle properly.

Flashblock could not reproduce it and blames VS. :(

I did notice SeaMonkey's Error Console showed: "Error: uncaught

Also, another VS user has the same problem in Camino. He said it comes
with Flashblock. It seems like only older Gecko engines and Flashblock
have this problem. I couldn't reproduce it with SeaMonkey v2.0 beta 1
and the latest FlashBlock for it.

SeaMonkey v1.1.17 & FlashBlock v1.3.14 on redesigned VideoSift.com show no videos?

2009-07-27 Thread Ant

Hi!

Is anyone else not seeing videos when using FlashBlock v1.3.14 extension
in SeaMonkey v1.1.17 to not automatically show Flash parts/areas on
redesigned http://videosift.com/ (VS)? They do not show after clicking
on "F" and its play button.

I was able to reproduce it in two XP Pro. machines, one Windows 2000 SP4
(new SM, extension, and default installations!), and Debian/Linux. The
extension and VS developers could not reproduce it. I wasn't able to
reproduce it with SeaMonkey v2.0b1 on a test machine with Dell OEM XP Home.

I am checking to see if others can or cannot reproduce this on
redesigned videosift.com.

Thank you in advance. :)

It says here to use 1.3.9. Maybe it needs to be updated?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/433

Before I could install a different version of flashblock, I had to uninstall
it. Having an extension that can't be easily uninstalled is really not a
good idea! It took many tries to finally get rid of Mnenhy completely, which
for me caused more problems than it resolved, and then I still had to
uninstall flashblock. I didn't want to mess around with a new install of
Mnenhy, so I opted for the double dose of the extension manager and the
extension uninstaller API, which worked pretty well, although I still had to
remove references of flashblock in other files to get my personal toolbar to
look normal. Then In installed flashblock version 1.3.11, and everything
seems to be fine for now. Thanks for your help.

that might be true, but the experts hang out in the
areas I specified. Its better to ask them there, than
it is here, as you only show up once in a while.

For your installation problem try this set of instructions:

1. Disable (or uninstall) Mnenhy.

2. Shut down SeaMonkey.

3. Locate your SeaMonkey profile directory. This should contain a
"chrome" subdirectory. This chrome directory should contain a
"overlayinfo" subdirectory. Delete the "overlayinfo" directory and
everything inside it.

4. Restart SeaMonkey and attempt to install Flashblock 1.3.8.

For your first problem. This might be cause by another extension
interfering with Flashblock. Try creating a new SeaMonkey profile and
installing only Flashblock. And you should try our latest version 1.3.11.

I decided for now to just replace my profile with the backup. My laptop is
going to be formatted this week with a clean install of Windows, so I'd
rather not have to deal with other changes right now.

Flashblock

2009-02-15 Thread Andrea
I'm using SM 1.1.14 and have been using Flashblock 1.3.8. I've been having
problems with it--not seeing the usual marker where flash would go, so I
decided to uninstall it and then reinstall it. I installed the Mnenhy
extension and then deleted Flashblock from the Chrome Manager. When I
reopened SM, Flashblock was gone, but each time I try to install either
1.3.8 or 1.3.9, I get a failed message that says that there's a registry
entry -239. I'm not adding a newer version because there seem to be bugs
when using with SM. Any advice?
