I'd like my folder settings in Windows Explorer to be applied to all
folders. I'm using Windows 8.1. I tried to follow the steps for Windows
10, but I didn't find an options choice in the File menu. I have music on
my PC that has their years in the file, and I have one folder configured

It's actually probably the new default spacing they use that is separate from
the line spacing you were trying to change with Alt 1. To make it look like
the classic line spacing you are accustomed to, do the following:

Press alt p p g
This will stop on allign
Tab until you get to line spacing (about 9 presses of the tab key)
up and down arrow until you get the setting you want.
Tab four more times to default and press enter.
