Well, when you're working on email, it's hard to know which method is
appropriate without trying one of the methods out. But, if the old way
doesn't get you very far, try again using the f8 f8 method. Most people
these days seem to use html messages, so the new method is probably going to
work
the f8 method is ONLY used when browse mode is on. So, not in notepad
or composing an Email.

Next, what I tried sure did not work by function 8 to select and f8 to end

Good morning to you too Don,

Hi Dennis,
This is not possible, since the old way is based on a web page which does
not change.
Window-Eyes has been newly designed to allow for dynamic, that is, changing
web pages, and this is why they had to design a new way of dealing with web
content.
We have to look forward, and I'm sure
Thanks Aaron.

Personally, I wouldn't want F8 to be ditched for the old way. At times
it's very handy. But for me it's annoying when I'm bouncing around
between standard windows and those which use browse mode because I have
to stop and think for that fraction of a second about which selection
method to use
Clarification. I'd like to have my cake and eat it too with both
selection methods.

I think it's all about what people are used to using, it's what people
know and have been doing for years. Then you have this new method and
it just feels clumsy. I'm sure it works great, but it's just not, you
know, stable for me. It would be great if we had a choice of which
selection
Explain how the old way is better. The old way you have to press two
keys instead of one (granted you don't have to press any sort of f-8 but
that is outweighed by the ease of using the arrow keys or page down or).

hello all,
for a couple of weeks now, when window-eyes starts, a strange message keeps
coming up, saying something like, "the capture spoken phrases license has
expired", but giving no information about how to renew it. have also looked at
the settings and help for this app, in the apps menu,
It is related to the Extended Dictionary app you have installed. The author
notified the list that installing the latest version would address this issue.

Hi there GROUP!
I find the F8 method of selecting text to be rather convenient. As long
as its done correctly it works very well! I usually check my copy and
paste by pasting into a blank notepad document and reviewing it to make
certain that everything is where it is suppose to be.
Just my

One thing to keep in mind is this, the same code will be used when the shift
arrow keys are brought back, so if things aren't selecting for you now they
aren't going to select when the other method comes back.
Regardless if you hit f8 to start the selection, or hold down the shift arrow
keys.
Hi Slery:
Here are the steps to turn of protectedd mode for a document that you
hjave just loaded
1. Press the alt key to go to the ribbon.
2. Press the left arrow key to get to the File button.
3. Press the spacebar to open the file submenu.
4. Press the up arrow until you get to Info.
5. Tab
For me the f8 hot key for selecting text is a little cumbersome so I
simply changed the hot key to be shift down arrow. Other than that
small change I find it works great.

Hi Dennis,
In the WE control panel, navigate to Hot Keys, expand this, and press down
arrow to Browse mode.
Press tab, and then press S to highlight Select content.
You wil hear that the key is set to F8.
Tab to the Capture button, activate it, and then press the hotkey of your
choice.

Hi Gang, I’ve been of the opinion that the focus issues are with Windows
ever since Windows 7.
Veronica - I did this for my employees so long ago that I don't recall what it

Just one person's thoughts, but as to why the F8 method for selecting text

F8 was already being used by Microsoft as a means of selecting text in Word,
