APvT> Versions with the auto-update feature: APvT> 64-bit https://www.ritlabs.com/download/the_bat/thebat_64_10-5.msi since resolving the CEF issue (I simply copied the correct CEF version into the Program Files\CEF folder), TheBat! started showing large black gaps between menu items (see attachment). Re: 10.4.0.17 gives me error of wrong CEF version on Windows 10 / same with 10.5 over 10.4.0.17
I have an explanation of the immediate effect in the meantime: there seems to be a mix-up between install folders. To my, displeasure, since several versions TheBat! seems to install into two folders: program files and localProfile/TheBat. (Why are these two locations used anyway?) Now, regarding CEF, there were two sources present: - program files/CEF had the version 103.0.12.0 - local profile had 1.2 GB worths of different versions (isn't that getting cleaned - waste-of-space-wise?), one of them the current one, 117.1.5.0 But TheBat! 10.5 seemed to only regard the program files/CEF location where the old one was present. When deleted, no CEF would be found. I had to manually copy the current CEF from local profile into the program files/CEF path. Which CEF location should TheBat! regard or prefer - and why is there the entire big historic collection in the local profile if it's not being used? Thank you, best regards Viktor , Donnerstag, 5. That's a good work-around, thank you! BUT: this feature seems to me to have been meant to control the auto-preview on *standard click* - the right click does something different and, in my opinion, shouldn't trigger the auto-preview at all. 10.4 Right-clicking an attachment activates it in tab, viewing it
Hi! when I right-click a suspicious PDF attachment in order to save and possibly scan it, TheBat!, along with showing the context menu, activates the tab with that attachment and displays it in an embedded window. I wouldn't expect or want an attachment to be effectively launched/opened when right-clicking it, which has its own funtionality that I explicitly wanted to use instead of launching that file. What do you think? (and a stupid question - is there no fuilltext search on bt.ritlabs.com that would enable me to search in present issues before submitting a new one? Features: Support for ICS / iCalendar format mails
Hello list, recently, a sender started sending me Outlook appointment e-mails containing nothing but the iCalendar data with its MIME type. Such mails aren't handled by TheBat! very nicely, only the source text beginning with "BEGIN:VCALENDAR" is being shown, not even a button to save the contents to a file. I saw some old feature requests for this but nothing leading to a solution. Would any of you possibly have a workaround or know where a feature discussion for better support could be continued? I'd love if TheBat! could actually interpret and show the appointment data, but even easy storing the data to a file would be an improvement for me. Of course, deeper support, such as offering to add the appointment to the SmartPad or otherwise starting an associated program would be nice too, but much farther down the "nice to have" road for me :) -- Cheers Viktor Kabelac mailto:tbbeta-l...@kabelac.cz TheBat! 10.0.10 Pro (x64, no OTFE) on Windows 10.0 x64 19044 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

TheBat! v10 seems to tempoarily accept a v9 license
Hello RitLabs, after I installed the release v10, I noticed that my previous v9 license that the beta worked with (or didn't it care?) isn't accepted anymore and the program started asking for a fresh one. When searching for the latest license I had obtained, I only found the v9 one and so that's what I tried to enter. To my surprise, the V9 license seemed to be accepted even though in the license information it correctly said that the license is valid for v9. After restarting the program, it was unregistered again. What I want to ask: do we need a new license for v10 - and is it desired behavior that v10 temporarily accepts a v9 license? Testing TheBat!10 beta - login issues in program and portal
Hello list, I'm sorry if I am asking questions already covered, but I cannot find any messages with solutions here. Since the beta program was announced some time ago, I registered on the Beta site, but not much worked there. Today, I installed a beta version. The first surprise was that, apparently, it silently removed my previous TheBat installation? I, personally, would have preferred keeping it as a backup. Second - the beta program doesn't do anything until I log in into a "TheBat! Network account". I tried to log in with the Beta portal login data, to no avail. I do not get in in the portal either. I can reset my password, to no avail, I still don't get in. Are those different accounts and possibly a reason why my beta account doesn't seem to work? Has any such issue been covered already? When editing an HTML message and selecting text "wordwise" using Ctrl+Shift+Arrow (left/right), the editor sometimes selects one or two words as expected and then starts to make jumps of several words, selecting random large portions of the text - in both directions (not only in the direction I wanted to select in but also "back" behind the caret). The boundaries of the large selecting block seem to stay the same even if I try to start selecting a different word, wich brings me to the idea that possibly something in the HTML causes the stops. My guess is that the "About" dialog background should be dark and the text color of the "Win 10 dark" theme would already be prepared for that :) -- Cheers Viktor Kabelacmailto:tbbeta-l...@kabelac.cz TheBat! 9.2.5.7 Pro (x64, no OTFE) on Windows 10.0 x64 18363 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

One small rant still: at least in the "choco dark" theme, the "gray" footer text in the message preview is almost indistinguishable from the background. They know they have friendly humans on the other hand. Every now and then, someone may post useful small bits of other information. So while I am almost sure someone could cough up a form that would allow selecting "Yes/No/Maybe/What a piece'o'crap" for each beta, I think it'd only give them less information. Re: 9.2.0.4 - quick search stopped working?
Hello, today, when searching for a particular message, the "quick search" functionality seemingly stopped working. When I type letters on the message list now, nothing happens, and when I press "enter" afterwards, the message is opened in new window - so apparently no trace of the quick search. I would even attribute this to a new feature that needs some configuring, but I saw the quick search tabs with the values I entered previously, today, so it had to be working up to a certain point. No amount of restarting seems to help. Did anyone maybe experience this behavior too, can the quick search be configured somewhere, by a setting I couldn't find yet? I took a short glance at the toolbar customize functionality and found three possible issues/a possible redundancy: Screenshot: https://paste.pics/8KNYG 1. There is a checkbox "Use large icons instead of small" and there is a "Toolbar view style". The toolbar view style lets me select small/large icons with/without text. The checkbox lets me make icons large even if I chose small in the view style. It seems to me like the icon sice checkbox is redundant, since the same can be done using the toolbar view style - unless one of them controls places the other doesn't 2. When in this dialog and I open a menu of the main window (to see the effects of the setting I am tampering with), when the menu loses focus, its label keeps a rather thick "focus" border 3. The font in the customize dialog seems different style than the font in the rest of the TheBat interface... My impression of the customize dialog was that it's a lot of small text, especially the shortcuts tree. Cheers and thank you for your work one more time! Paste image attachment over focused header line inserts the image *right there*
Hello TB-BETA, I have noticed this behavior with my previous .15 and now .16 x32 today (+ just tested with the Christmas release version x64 on another PC, that one doesn't do it): - start a new message (HTML+plain format in my case) - place the caret into a header row (such as Recipient) - attempt to paste an image (pulling it from another window using the mouse) into said header row - in my case, the image lands right in there: https://paste.pics/7V84Q The entire exercise started after I was apparently unable to paste an image attachment *anywhere* in the message window (I ended up using the button). Strangely, that behavior seems gone now, Paste is being accepted (again). Only the image recipient keeps looking somewhat weird... Can anyone confirm the image pasting in header rows or the message window not accepting attachment pastes? For me, Alt+U opens the Utilities menu correctly, but there, some of the items do not have Alt-Shortcuts - including the "Insert" item you're trying to use. You cannot get there using letters, but you still can use cursor keys. On other items in the same menu, the Alt-letters are defined. 9.0.0.19: Older betas gone from download location?
Hello TheBat! team, after I got problems with 9.0.0.19, I tried to revert back to 0.17 that had before. Unfortunately it seems like all the older betas are gone from the download location, so that I, being lazy me that sometimes just downloads+extract directly the temporary location, I now have nothing to revert to, save for some really old 0.12 beta. Was the old beta removal intentional, and could you please provide several betas back to make reverting to an older beta easier?
