I never understood the point of the Inbox Analyzer.

On the other hand, the Menu Navigator was a great tool. Not needed
often, but a real time-saver on the odd occasions I needed it.

That is right, with TB there are different ways to basically achieve
the same. Flags, tags, colour groups, virtual folders, filters or a
mix of them.

I personally have used the following setup for many years. I use
SmartSpace (https://www.ritlabs.com/en/support/tips-and-tricks/3961/)
for reading messages, and also some Read filters. If I want to keep,
mark somehow, etc. a message as "Action- Reply" I flag it before
hitting Space bar and then a Read filter will move it to my
"Action-Reply" folder. Then I have a virtual subfolder called "Must
Reply" that will display messages in "Action Reply" older than 10 days
and which 'Message attributes" is 'not replied'.

Then I use 'Replied filters' to move the messages to appropriate
folder, if needed.

It may seem a bit awkward, but has worked for me for many years.

MailTicker only counts unread messages in folders that have been
marked to display unread messages in MailTicker, which is the default
when creating a new folder.

I have a much better (for me) solution for the same problem (I call it
"still needs reply", but the same can be used for "for work later"):

I "flag" messages that still need to be replied. And I have a virtual
folder that shows all flagged messages. This way unread messages and
messages that still need to be replied to don't get mixed up, and I
have an easy count of flagged messages. If you use the flag for
another purpose, you can use a colour code, for example.

I have been using this method successfully for many years. It may be
low-tech compared to the Mail Ticker, but simplicity is often more
efficient.

I have opened a few dozen mails; my experience:
- I see no difference between an IMAP and a POP-account
- mail window sent to background never happens with text mails
- mail window sent to background sometimes happens with HTML mails. I
have a feeling that it correlates with the time it takes to open the
mail viewer window. If it opens right away, it stays in the
foreground. If it takes bit (half a second) it moves to the
background.

So, confirmed.

Badge is not stupid. This thing is useful for smartphone users (all
email/messengers have it counters on the icon) and goes here this is useful
feature, just as counter. I do like it badge, and not use it mailticker
nowadays, just have it special unread virtual folder for it. But when TB! isn't
on focus - badge is good, let's this feature will be alive.

Mail-ticker isn't useful now, old toy. See my another thoughts about
mail-ticker in other my answer. Needs to do interactive mail-ticker with
answer/forward/etc commands when you press on the email that on mail-ticker.

Mail-Ticker is useless! That's just info-ticker without reactions.
Why don't I can't press on message in the ticker and choose some things for
that message as
- mark as read
- answer
- answer to all
- forward
- etc
As I can do such thing with popup emails on Android or iOS

Mail-ticker now just a toy. Please what I say at top of this message, burn for

The Windows theme doesn't matter either, you may not select the option of the
small icons.
But the system tray still doesn't show a counter.

So for me the feature is useless. I always use small icons, and always leave
