Re: Error: Could not export message
Try creating a new test account with the same settings. If this one sends and receives properly, move all the messages and folders across from and then delete the non-working account. Then rename the test account as the personal account and check it still works. Just a suggestion - no guarantees, and even if it works it won't say what was going wrong. -- Best regards MFPA Thanks! Error: Could not export message
Once again, I'm helping my friend with The Bat! on her new computer. Her tech guy got it up and running, but she's having a problem sending mail from one of her accounts. She has a personal account with one provider and a work account with the university's server. She has been using her personal account provider's SMTP server to send mail for both accounts when using her home computer. On her old computer, it worked fine that way. Now, with the new installation of The Bat! (version 4.2.10.1, Windows Vista), she gets an error message Could not export message whenever she tries to send mail from her personal account. She has no trouble sending mail from her work account through the exact same SMTP server. This happens with all email from this account, regardless of whether or not there's an attachment. She's not using IMAP. Everything is correct in her Account Properties as far as I can tell. I've reached the limit of my expertise here. Any suggestions? Installation problem
My friend bought a new computer running Vista. She had someone come over a couple of days ago and do some data transfer and program installation for her. He installed her previous copy of The Bat!, which was probably a 2.x or 3.x version. He, of course, knew nothing about the program. He forgot to make a backup of TB! on her old computer, however. Today, we hooked up her old computer to back up TB! so we could restore her saved email and settings. Another friend and TB! user came with me and tried at first just to move the files from one computer to the other. It wouldn't let us do that. I had brought a flash drive with TB! 4.2 on it to install on her computer as a trial. When moving the files didn't work, we tried to run the 4.2 installation program. Over and over, we got an error message that it couldn't find Drive G. There is no drive G. The flash drive was on H. The hard drive is C:. When we tried to uninstall The Bat! that her tech guy had installed, we were unable to do so. Something wouldn't let us. It also called the program it wouldn't delete by some name using a non-Roman alphabet. So, how do I get the old files off her computer and get a new version of The Bat! up and running with her old data restored? Help! Re: Installation problems with Vista
I'm now about ready to throw this laptop against the wall, out a window, into a deep well, just anywhere away from me. I still can't restore my email and files by backing up from my desktop and restoring on the laptop. I find Vista completely non-intuitive and so different from XP as to be unrecognizable. I swear my blood pressure is rising. How do I completely uninstall The Bat! so I can start over? Filtering question
I want to set up a filter so that all messages between my secretary and me go into a separate folder. However, the ONLY messages I want in there are messages that have no other recipients -- no CC, no BCC to anyone. We are both often copied on memos, minutes, etc from various committees, and I want all that to stay in my regular inbox. How do I set up a filter for incoming mail that says, if the sender is Michelle and the only recipient is Jeanny, filter to this folder and a corresponding one for outgoing mail that says if the sender is Jeanny and the only recipient is Michelle, filter to this folder. My brain isn't finding the logic for how to do this, so I rely on you all, my gurus! Jeanny -- Jeanny House Eau Claire, WI The Bat! 1.62r on Windows XP , version 5.1, build 2600.
