No way to purge unread messages in common folder
Hello, My Gmail account pulls in messages for the beta list for TheBat! Message count is over 5,000 and I have it set to keep *only* 300 messages. The messages are sorted and placed in a common folder: Lists TheBat! Beta The folder settings for Beta are set to Max stored messages = 300, and I even tried max keep messages = 30 days. But nothing will get rid of them if they are unread. For my Gmail account, I have checked the box that says Purge unread messages Is this a bug? -- Doug mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** TheBat! Hallo Doug, On Fri, 8 Feb 2008 09:26:07 +GMT (8-2-2008, 10:26 +0100, where I live), you wrote: DH The folder settings for Beta are set to Max stored messages = 300, and I even tried DH max keep messages = 30 days. But nothing will get rid of them if they are unread. For DH my Gmail account, I have checked the box that says Purge unread messages Unfortunately you can't set 'purge unread messages' for common folders, it's not in their 'account properties'. The settings of the original account have no meaning for the common folder, as the messages aren't associated anymore with that account. No bug, though you could consider it an oversight. -- Groetjes, Roelof The only difference between lawyers and vultures is removable wingtips http://www.voormijalleen.nl/ The Bat! 4.0.7 Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 3 pop3 accounts OTFE enabled P4 3GHz 2 GB RAM pgpj9EpIjoaud.pgp Description: PGP signature Current version is 4.0.0.22 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Purge unread messages?
Hello TBUDL, Question: Is it possible to (automatically) purge folders from messages that are for example x days old, even if they are unread? Elaboration: I subscribe to a few mailing lists (like this one) which I _would like_ to follow regularly, but periodically the number of unread mail adds up to staggering quantities... It would be nice of old messages just disappeared out of the folder after a certain time, read or not. Preferably by some automated process, like a filter or a setting in folder properties.
