It's not clear to me if the OP is just expecting the Touch to switch
automatically to the LMS server of if they used the Touch menu to select
the LMS server. It should connect straightaway if you've selected an LMS
server (check it's running properly, e.g. by looking at it via a web
browser). If
I see the OP has posted also in the DIY forum.
I do wonder whether there's a concise introduction to how Squeezeboxes
work in relation to LMS and mysqueezebox.com out there somewhere. I
suspect that the OP may not know what LMS means if he's just got got
hold of a Touch.

John Darko quotes the company as saying:
Either in series between any computer, smartphone, NAS,
streamer, or car audio system and a USB input. For an additional sonic
improvement, use a second JitterBug in another unoccupied USB portin
parallel to the firstexcept with JitterBug FMJs front
I think you've posted in the wrong forum here, which might explain the
lack of response. Maybe the Third Party Hardware forum might be a better
place.
I've heard of Squeezer, but not the Innuos Zen. Presumably something in
your setup is running LMS, and there's a player connected to that?
Before I became a homeworker due to the pandemic, I built a small server
for my office with a Raspberry Pi (piCorePlayer, LMS) and a hard drive
(a copy of my music files), which might be a cost effective and better
performing alternative to using the tinyLMS in the Touch.

My LMS runs on a Raspberry Pi running piCorePlayer. It has a cable
connection to the router and is powered via a USB cable. The NAS holds
the music files and is also wired to the router.
All my players connect wirelessly via the router. The Pi is housed in a
small basic black case. No problems
I share your concerns about having a full-powered PC running 24/7. My
solution, and that of several other regular posters, is to run Logitech
Media Server on a Raspberry Pi 3 which is connected to the router via
ethernet cable. The Pi has a pretty low energy overhead. I have my music
files on a
My personal view is that the easiest solution is to run LMS on a
Raspberry Pi with files stored on a NAS, which is my preferred setup (I
leave this running 24/7). You may be able to sort out the USB drive on
the Pi, but power may be an issue.
Probably a wise move to try the hard drive with a
When I shifted from running LMS on the QNAP to a Raspberry PI, I faced
the same: I used a text editor (nano) on the Pi to edit the playlists to
reflect the new path to the files. I don't have many playlists, so it
wasn't too much trouble. I daresay that a BASH script could automate the
process.

Is this connected to the recent outage of mysqueezebox.com? There's a
thread in the Radio forum.

The WD hard drive is a stand alone unit running a Linux distro and LMS.
You connect the player wirelessly to it. Check out 'the thread

I suggest that as an alternative to trying to use a hard drive attached
to the SBT, that a few alternatives be explored: Raspberry Pi with
attached hard drive and running LMS (several ways of doing this,
including piCorePlayer), and more recently I used the instructions

Have a look on eBay and Amazon - there are usually Squeezebox remotes
available there (just checked just now). Otherwise, there are
controller/player apps for Android and iOS that fit the bill quite
well.

Have you got the iTunes integration plugin installed and enabled? Beyond
that I can't suggest anything, as I don't use iTunes for anything other

I keep LMS well separated from any iTunes installs I have, so I can't

have reported issues with the latest version of iTunes though if I
remember correctly this related to playlists. Still, it may be worth

I don't use a Touch, but I do use two Squeezebox Radios and a Squeezebox

which switches the Squeezebox from LMS to the web service. LMS is still

easy.

Seems to be quite a lot of information on how to set up a Touch over at
the Logitech website. Mind you, I've always found Squeezeboxes and LMS
(in its various releases) quite easy to set up on Linux systems,
including a QNAP NAS.
What specific problems have you experienced? I saw your posting

Yes, there's a plugin for that (in the media server, now called
Logitech Media Server). I'm assuming there's nothing odd about the Duet
in this regard (I have 2 x SBR, 1 x SB3.

this as it seems to work fine for my two SB Radios and SB3.
The QNap seems to have enough muscle for those tasks. I fitted 2 x 1Tb
drives in a RAID array. A 1Tb USB hard drive keeps a backup of the
music files.
