After returning to an old xorg.conf (attached) I can access my machine
but I've noticed that the fonts seem to be lost, even though the
xorg.conf points to the right place...

Yes, there is no change Feisty is the same. 64 bit is just not
progressing as I had hoped. Browsing on the web is really a hassle. I
have 3 different firefox installations, plus a 32bit chroot. Each one
can do some things, none can do what I would expect: normal browsing

No Upgrading to Feisty did not solve this problem. The fonts had to
again be re-written by hand. This may be due to my previous intervention
on the xorg.conf file - perhaps the installation process doesn't touch

There was never any progress in this bug.
The situation has worsened in Feisty. Upon suspend, there is a screen
full of junk, then upon resume, there is a crash and a full restart!

following up on this issue, i discovered that the /etc/X11/xorg.conf
file contains a long list of wrong font paths since the upgrade to edgy.
After inspecting all the paths, I changed the font paths to all point to:
/usr/share/fonts/X11/font name
instead of the old paths which were:

I haven't had a problem in long while, I'm still running Ubuntu 8.04 64bit
rt kermel; I keep it up to date and have had no problems since the last
report.

when suddenly the interaction with the windowing became impossible.

I have been experiencing this bug as per above: heavy wifi traffic
causes loss of connection and impossible to re-establish. Same machine
booted to WIN7 has no problem.
machine: ASUS EEEPC 1201N
wifi: RTL8191SEvA
Are there any known work arounds?
