Hi,
I’ve spent a fair bit of lab time trying to get GRE tunnelling working in
CloudStack 4.2.1 / Xenserver 6.1 but have had no luck so far.
As per various posts, documents and wiki articles I’ve got:
- Xenserver 6.1 cluster with all patches, CloudStack 4.2.1 installed from RPMs
(CentOS 6.5).
. Maybe it will added to future
releases.
Will looking into your issue to find out the problem.
Thanks,

On your KVM host check the ³devpts² line in your /etc/fstab, and if needed

Hi Özhan,
this is by design, the idea being you take a snapshot which you can then
download if you require (the same goes for templates you create). To allow
downloads the snapshot requires to be accessible from the SSVM, I.e. it

Hi Mohd, is your instance using a HA compute offering? If so CloudStack will
continue to restart the VM every time it's shut down from within the guest OS.
To fully shut down a HA instance you have to carry this out from the CloudStack

Can you also confirm you have definitely seeded your system VM templates on
your secondary storage before adding this?
If you can give us a bit more information about your configuration we should
hopefully be able to assist.

Hi Rafael,
Keep in mind for an advanced zone the broadcast domain for VLANs is the zone
rather than the POD, i.e. VMs in the new POD would use the same VLANs as the
previous VMs in the original POD.

Hi Rafael,
in the confines of that zone yes. All switches serving one zone need to trunk
the same VLANs, no matter how you configure your PODs or clusters.

Hi Kiril,
It’s not possible to internally share a disk between multiple VMs in
CloudStack, you would have to set up another CloudStack hosted shared storage
server, like a SMB/CIFS box or NFS (sorry no MS clustering expert so appreciate
these may not be supported).

Hi John,
No – by definition the template root disk size is the same size as the VM you
based it on. So in other words – to change the root disk size of a template you
need to build a new VM with the correct size disk and then create a new
template from this.

And yes – to answer your question – using the same LUN on multiple clusters is
pretty much guaranteed to cause you problems – most likely data corruption and
complete loss of data.

Hi Ghait,
It seems very odd that you don’t have a /var/log/SMlog file – this should be
present. Lacking that also check your /var/log/xensource.log and messages files.
Can you also explain what provides your NFS secondary and primary shares?

ACS >= version 4.6: you can copy the file to your desktop, then use the local
copy function on the upload page to upload the template to your new CloudStack
instance.
Hope this helps,

the script above.
With regards to downloading from the GUI – keep in mind you have a
chicken-and-egg scenario – until you have first downloaded the system VM
template with the above script CloudStack can not create a SSVM, hence it will
not be able to download any further templates.
