There are all manner of scripts! So, without knowing your programming
language, I suggest referencing the PDF function on the FILE menu in your
script as you would any other command. I'm supposing that page 2 only
would be an attribute.

that resolves your problem; please explain further.
The original file is already a valid PDF. Thus, I can update the file
in OOo when I need, and yet the script can take whatever page it needs
to print.
