Hi, I am a greenhorn with OOo, but looking forward to use OOo asap.
I downloded OOo 2.4 succesfully as it seems.
However, upon starting up the X terminal window opens, I understand this is

I run 3 on my MacBook Pro with no problem. It doesn't use X, or at
least it doesn't appear to use X. It seems to run fine. I have some
learning curve issues but those aren't the software's fault. Yu may
want to try that.

You need to download the Aqua version of OpenOffice (ported for the
Mac). The new release runs fine on my Macbook Pro.
