Thank you for your contribution and to have confirmed that it requires
Outlook 2013 or later.

I remember some time ago someone from this list had recommended me using
the CalDAV Synchronizer plugin. I tried to access the site just now but
it seems that is temporarily inaccessible.

The interesting thing about this plugin is that, as someone said in this
subthread, it change the rules of the game. Because now it is no longer
use ActiveSync to synchronize calendar and contacts; any groupware
software with support of CalDAV/CardDAV could be used.

I think this has another positive result. When I've tested Outlook 2013
with ActiveSync, users was able to synchronize contacts, calendar and
emails. The latter makes users to have two email mailboxes in your
control panel, one corresponding to IMAP access and another for the
ActiveSync access. That could be confusing for some users.

Kind regards,
Daniel

You have a clean build machine or already installed dependencies needed for
build with openchange: libmapi-dev, libmapistore-dev, libmapiproxy-dev?

By the way, already built packages may be sufficient for you? See alternative
SOGo packages repository for Debian and Ubuntu.

Without OpenChange are two possibilities for MS Outlook support:

1) ActiveSync with Outlook 2013 and later.

2) Outlook CalDav Synchronizer with Outlook 2007 ane later.

Do not be fooled by the 'CalDav' in the plugin name, because for some time
also allows to synchronize CardDAV! It is an open source and development is
very active. Plugin adds into MS Outlook exactly what is missing == CalDAV
and CardDAV. For more information, see:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/outlookcaldavsynchronizer/

I would say that with this plugin you do not need to deal with OpenChange.

Cheers

It seems that you are building SOGo with OpenChange from Debian Jessie, which
is probably older than expected in current SOGo versions. You can try to
build without OpenChange support.

2016-07-27 Thread Francis Lachapelle
Hello Jason

I understand your concerns. We've been providing release packages for over a
decade and our decision to make them exclusive to our customers has shocked
some members of the community. However, I remind everyone that the licensing
doesn't change; SOGo remains Free and Open Source. The nightly builds are still
available for all popular Linux distributions. Anyone interested in providing
alternative repositories to share them among the SOGo community is free to do
so.

Generating packages from the SOGo/SOPE sources isn't complex - it's just like

version in Debian proper can be kept up to date. And a sogo3 package
could be added.

Nightly builds are indeed available - just like before:

There are FAQs on how to configure your repos for Yum and apt-get.

Generating packages from the SOGo/SOPE sources isn't complex - it's
just like building any other packages. We still provide the Debian

2.2.17 has ActiveSync support already.
But I would not set up a new SOGo server with that old version, because
ActiveSync support has improved a lot since 2.2.17.
There were cases, when synchronization didn't work at all, especially
with big postboxes and calendars.

After many months of discussion and thinking, we made the decision to
close down the public package repositories. From now on, in order to
access the production builds of SOGo for various Linux distributions,
you will need a proper support contract from Inverse
. Payments can be made
by credit card.

It is a good point :-) Thanks for the clarification. Just for curiosity,
do you remember from what version of SOGo was added the ActiveSync support?

I was researching [1] and the SOGo version in the unstable branch of

In any case, it is always the option to generate the packets using the
procedure mentioned by Achim, or use the Nightly repositories of Inverse.

How are these accessed?
Nightly builds are indeed available - just like before:
https://sogo.nu/download.html

There are FAQs on how to configure your repos for Yum and apt-get.

Generating packages from the SOGo/SOPE sources isn't complex - it's
just like building any other packages. We still provide the Debian
control files and the spec files to do so.

Thanks!
Thank you for the clarification. Managed to build debian wheezy
packages for sope and sogo with control files under packaging/debian.

Hello,

Over the past 10 years, Inverse has been developing SOGo and providing everything (software packages, documentation, etc.) completely free of charge. A massive number of organizations worldwide have successfully deployed SOGo and benefit for free from the continuous enhancements of the software.

After many months of discussion and thinking, we made the decision to close down the public package repositories. From now on, in order to access the production builds of SOGo for various Linux distributions, you will need a proper support contract from Inverse. The options are listed here:

https://sogo.nu/support/index.html#support-plans

Payments can be made by credit card.

We hope that this move will help Inverse to:

	increase its investments in SOGo
accelerate SOGo v3 evolution by adding more features (S/MIME, alternate storage backends, etc.)
expedite bugs fixing and small feature additions
	invest in gravitational projects
extend its support to more Linux distributions
create a VAR channel to resell and participate in providing support

Tying up package repositories to a support agreement is important for us as Inverse strives to offer stellar support and we want to bring more value for the money to each customer. Current organizations that have a support contract with us will automatically get access to the package repositories. Official packages also offer the advantage of being thoroughly tested before they are released.

SOGo will continue to remain entirely Free and Open Source. The source code will always be fully available and we will keep using the current licenses. Nightly builds will also remain available to all, as well as the ZEG configured with the latest software.

Thanks for your support and understanding. Together, we all make SOGo better!

In Debian is an outdated version of SOGo, which didn't include
ActiveSync support at all.
Because of that you do not get sogo-activesync from Debian Jessie.

I only see the SOGo packages mentioned in my previous email using the
official repositories of Debian. I'm not sure why the Debian maintainers
did not include the activesync package or if they included the
activesync support in some other package.

Re: [SOGo] ANN: SOGo Package Repositories

2016-07-20 Thread Andreas Welbers

Hi,

could anybody or Inverse provide a working .rpmmacros for build RPMs
with CentOS?

The SPEC-file for SOGo has missing build dependencies I worked around.

I created a .rpmmacros with these inital settings:

%sope_major_version 4
%sope_minor_version 9
%sope_source SOPE-%{sogo_version}.tar.gz
%sope_version 4.9
%sogo_version 2.3.13

With these settings it works somewhat better but it breaks at:

creating: /root/rpmbuild/BUILD/SOPE/config.make
optional library found: xml2
optional library found: ldap
optional library found: ssl
optional library found: pq
failed to link optional library: mysqlclient
configuring NGStreams library done (log in config-NGStreams.log).
+ make CC=gcc '%{sope_makeflags}'
This is gnustep-make 2.6.6. Type 'make print-gnustep-make-help' for help.
make: *** Keine Regel, um >>%{sope_makeflags}<< zu erstellen. Schluss.
Fehler: Fehler-Status beim Beenden von /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.ceRzk8 (%build)

The case with this is that every time you try to update the operating
system with apt-get/aptitude or the package manager that uses the
distribution of each, we will have a new version of SOGo to update and
may not there are changes between the last build and the previous.

I currently use Debian stable (Jessie) for my servers and they have
included SOGo on the repositories, although it seems (if I'm not missing
something) it is not incorporating all packages:

--
$ apt-cache search sogo
fusiondirectory-plugin-sogo - SOGo plugin for FusionDirectory
fusiondirectory-plugin-sogo-schema - LDAP schema for FusionDirectory
SOgo plugin
sogo - Scalable groupware server
sogo-common - Scalable groupware server - common files
sogo-dbg - Scalable groupware server - debugging symbols
sogo-openchange - Scalable groupware server - OpenChange backend
xul-ext-sogo-connector - transforms Icedove into a full DAV client for
groupware servers
--

For example, I do not see the package for activesync.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Generating packages from the SOGo/SOPE sources isn't complex - it's

That's sad. As others already mentioned, paying 700 € only to access the
official repository is to much. And the alternative to build the
packages by my own isn't realy great. It was the ease of installing and
updating that makes SOGo so nice for ops.

That's sad. As others already mentioned, paying 700 € only to access the
official repository is to much. And the alternative to build the
packages by my own isn't realy great. It was the ease of installing and
updating that makes SOGo so nice for ops.

Re: [SOGo] ANN: SOGo Package Repositories

2016-07-19 Thread Benoit SERRA
That is quite a shame, as I'm using Sogi only for myself and I'm not willing to
pay 700€ per year to have access to officials packages.

But if you create a cheaper plan only for accessing the repos, I'll probably
think about it twice.

I think that should happen in order to "monetize" the stable repo.

I understand the motivation for this change.

I have used SOGo for some time now on a private/personal groupware
server for my family. Even the basic support contract will be
completely out of sense for this purpose.

What does that mean for me? I have to download the source code and
compile myself? Or should use nightly builds? How do I access
these? Are these also in a package repository available to me?
How are these accessed?

Re: [SOGo] ANN: SOGo Package Repositories

2016-07-19 Thread p...@szladovics.hu

2016-07-19 18:13 keltezéssel, Ludovic Marcotte (lmarco...@inverse.ca) írta:

Hello,

Over the past 10 years, Inverse has been developing SOGo and providing
everything (software packages, documentation, etc.) completely free of
charge. A massive number of organizations worldwide have successfully
deployed SOGo and benefit for free from the continuous enhancements of
the software.

After many months of discussion and thinking, we made the decision to
close down the public package repositories. From now on, in order to
access the production builds of SOGo for various Linux distributions,
you will need a proper support contract from Inverse. The options are
listed here:

https://sogo.nu/support/index.html#support-plans

Payments can be made by credit card.

We hope that this move will help Inverse to:

  * increase its investments in SOGo
  * accelerate SOGo v3 evolution by adding more features (S/MIME,
alternate storage backends, etc.)
  * expedite bugs fixing and small feature additions
  * invest in gravitational projects
  * extend its support to more Linux distributions
  * create a VAR channel to resell and participate in providing support

Tying up package repositories to a support agreement is important for
us as Inverse strives to offer stellar support and we want to bring
more value for the money to each customer. Current organizations that
have a support contract with us will automatically get access to the
package repositories. Official packages also offer the advantage of
being thoroughly tested before they are released.

SOGo will continue to remain entirely Free and Open Source. The source
code will always be fully available and we will keep using the current
licenses. Nightly builds will also remain available to all, as well as
the ZEG configured with the latest software.

Thanks for your support and understanding. Together, we all make SOGo
better!

Hi Ludovic,

These reasons are absolutely understandable, but I think the community
needs some extra documentation about the package creation for various
distributions (RHEL, Debian, Ubuntu what supported by you with
repositories earlier).
I think some of us have infrastructure to keep 3rd party repositories
for compatible packages with the olders.

Example, I can build packages for Ubuntu, and serve it for other
interested community users. Not all branches, but the main stable v3
branch is distributable by me - after some days later than the stable
release is launched.

The main point is the fully compatibility with older (created by you)
packages.
If you have build scripts or anything what can help us in this
procedure, that should be awesome.

Thanks a lot,
Peti
