I need help finding a pattern..it was simply brown UV dubbing on a scud type hook, quick to tie. Don't know it's name, but found it on Hatches originally. Seems it was used in midwestern lakes for warm water fish. Does anyone have an idea what the name of this pattern could be? Thanks. Joyce --

Am I alone? I use a Materilli whip finisher for smaller sized flies, hand whip finish for bigger flies, and use the end of my bodkin which has a hole in the end, simple loop half whip times 3 over really tiny flies. For me, the finish is determined by the size of fly and ease of whip finishing it.

I use Deft clear polyacrylic, water based for most of my stuff as well. However, there is a disclaimer on the can that says even breathing that is bad for you. However, I think markedly less so than toluene based products. I don't know how it is with the smell of head cement, but with anesthesia
