Hi Tim, Contact syncing would still work, but I'm pretty sure Downcast file copying wouldn't. I would suggest that rather than turning off iCloud backup, one of you delete your iCloud account and create a new one using a different email address. This can and probably should be an iCloud

Hi, Alex, Your Apple ID doesn't have to be used for your iCloud address. Just use your iCloud address, assuming you have one already. If you don't you'll be prompted to set one up. I use a gmail address for my Apple ID, but it doesn't come into play at all in iCloud mail except as a sign-in ID

Hi Alex, I think you can do the following. I literally just discovered this earlier today. Go to settings, ICloud, Backup and storage, manage, and then double tap on the old backup you've got. It will give you an option of deleting it and basically removing that device from ICloud. I

One thing to keep in mind is that you can have a separate Apple ID for apps and for iCloud services. This is especially useful if you are in a family who has multiple iDevices. All of you can use one Apple ID for app purchases and the like, but each of you can use your own Apple ID for iCloud

Larry - I did confirm that I was one update behind the latest version of the iCloud Control Panel for Windows. Not sure if this new one was released in conjunction with the latest version of iTunes but maybe so. I do not use any POP accounts and iCloud works very differently with POP
