and my status bar said Bluetooth was connected, which it wasn't. So I turned it
off and that was that.

Since updating I have noticed two strange things about the status bar on my
Iphone5S. Even when it is not connected the Bluetooth indicator says that it
is connected.
Also on the status bar it alternates between saying region tracking on and
location tracking on.
Neither
I just touch at the very top of the screen. Any item along the status bar
will do.

Just press space with dots 1-2, the back command, and you will leave
the status bar. It would be nice to be able to go back to the exact point on
the screen where you were, but this does not seem to happen. The back command
will, however, work well to get you out of the bar.
