Several weeks ago I sent a message via the Messaging App to a friend using her
e-mail address rather than her mobile telephone number.
The aggravating issue is this; now when I try to send a message (via Messaging)
to her, her name resolves to that e-mail address
I am weary from trying to configure Messages settings to do what I want and
not any more. I like to have the Messages icon display the number of new
messages on the dock (where I keep Messages on my iPhone 8). But I do not want

Android users is likely because sending a message to another iPhone user will
result in an iMessage being sent. This is a red herring.
