In the fleksy app, there are 5 buttons along the top, the rightmost of these is called ”more”. Here you get a list with different options in it. You want the one called settings. When you’ve double clicked this one, a dialog comes up with various settings to change. The one you want is a switch

What exactly do you have problems with? Robin you asked if you had to be within the keyboard to swipe and click, the answer is yes. Also you wondered if words did have to be repeated when swiping, and the answer is yes on that one too, although you can set that in the preferences of the Fleksy

To switch back from Fleksy to normal iOS keyboard, single tap and hold on the emoji button to the left of the space bar until it announces "switch to emoji". Then keep your finger down and slide slowly to the right. The first button announced is Comma and the next one is switch keyboard. Harry

I've found that the Fleksy keyboard has steadily gotten better with accessibility since it first came out but I'm not sure that's a recommendation considering how poor it was out of the starting gate. I think the Fleksy keyboard is probably good enough now that one can be productive with it.
