We would advise use of 5 MHz channels for starters, and preferably
tighter mask gear since you'll get high capacity at long range in a
small channel. Low mask gear's capacity dies at very close range since
the allowed power is a small fraction of tight mask gear.

Of course it would Chuck. But in the case of Canopy speeds being higher,
that is strictly because it uses 4x the channel (20 MHz for the Canopy
vs. 5 MHz for 2.5 GHz WiMAX).
By the way, the VL would in turn smoke the Canopy and do it in the same
channel size.

Well, I guess the DFS2 mechanism works! And the radios could not find an
open (non radar) frequency?

x27;t see the radars much. IF you have a story, please
indicate if you are rural, rural coastal, etc.
Also how about 5.3 GHz. DFS2 is now mandatory there but I don't think we
have any case where those found a radar.
Thanks,

And speaking of misleading Jeff, you should do the basic diligence
before reporting what is or is not available in the U.S. from any
vendor. All are welcome to check who has what available at least in the
U.S. via this search. Jeff, if you are accurate, you'll see all these
frequency options for ve
ntenna with the same or less gain as and the same in-band
and out-of-band radiation characteristics as an antenna that the
manufacturer originally certified a radio with.
2. Patrick Leary said that he thought so BUT ONLY IF the manufacturer
included that antenna make and model on a list of ac
the hard knowledge and oogles of experience to have a pretty
sound idea.

To
profile in WiMAX that matters and
these are the ones based on 802.16e-2005 in 2.3, 2.5 and 3.5 GHz ranges.
Those are the only bands for which the ecosystem is revolving and
evolving right now. Other may be added at some point, but right now
anything else is misleading fluff.

checking years ago. Even the Sting case happened by accident --
the FCC enforcement guy happened to be in a co-lo facility where there
stuff was and he decided to just do a spot check because he had never
really seen WISP stuff before. I think that was back in 2001.

dozens of antennas at tower sites because they
chose an antenna that was not part of the certified combination, even
though the antenna did not violate power rules. At least this means that
WISPs no longer have that risk.
