[WISPA] Trade Shows in Spring

Does anyone whether vendor or WISP have a comprehensive list of all the
Trade Shows and their run dates relating to the Wireless Industry
between February, 2010 and June, 2010.  If so please email me OFF-LIST

Last I heard, WISPCon was kinda running out of fuel, too.  Is it on it's way
back from the dead?  I, for one, enjoyed that first couple of shows I
attended, but the last couple were really disorganized.

There you go! I see no reason why a trade show would not be a member of 
this association just like a WISP or a consultant or a vendor / 
manufacturer. Makes sense to me. Any shows want to join WISPA? I think 
vendor status would work for that.

Well ISPCON just did a nice thing for WISPA, that was a huge endorsement.
WISPNOG opened their booth up to WISPA and gave WISPA time in a 
conference hall and even WISPCON sent WISPA 5 free passes to WISPCON, 
and they are a competing wireless trade org.

be of the most value.  WiNOG was headed that way, but it is now dormant.

There are lots of other shows that WISPs can enjoy and learn from:  VON,
WCA, NTCA Annual Meeting, IP Possibilities, and the regional ILEC shows.  We
also show at LinuxWorld (now one per year) and plan to go to Interop this
Spring.

Its true, I'd prefer to just hang with the rest of the couragous, hard

WISPCON may have to do for me...  Any jetskis at WISPCON...  doughnuts 
after shots of tequila, petition-signing to stop all DSL/Cable/Community 
anti-trust activities, and a march on the City Hall (whatever City it is) 
would give me a giggle as well. hmmm.. A couple of places come to mind..


Anyone got a tractor and a field with a lake close by? I smell Woodstock

It's been the hottest summer here (Michigan) since 1955.  We've had 8 or 
so 90* days and the rest of them in the 80s.  Heck, Lake Michigan is 75* 
right now.  Pretty nice for a big lake.

bottles  - - -  and then on Saturday mornings these folks get on a 
14" x 8' plank board, drag behind a 25HP Evinrude (outboard) and a 
14' aluminum boat and call it "stump jumping"- - - - -  Big 
Creek won't work.

Mixing poisons is not a good thing. I'll stick with vsop or a glass or 
two of red wine. Good Chianti is amazingly inexpensive and really good..


Wherever it is, it'd be good to have minimum bugs.. Biting flies, ticks, 
mosquitos.. well... can be a real distraction. Although if you are going 
45-50 mph on a jetski, who cares.. :-) just wear sunglasses and wash 
them off from time to time.. ha ha ha...


Hell,I'd canoe down a river for that matter, or white water raft, or any 
number of things. Rogue River in OR I hear is nice.

I've always liked Wisconsin (well for the long and beautiful summer, 
sorry I can't come in Feb though wow, it can be cold)...


I have to note here. This is really Scriv's idea, not mine and I don't 
want to step on his toes for this event. I don't know if he's going to 
chime in here, but I want him to give his blessing on whatever develops 
for a summer WISPA get together. I frankly am not all that stoked about 
WiNOG, since that was birthed by WISPA people, and then adopted, or 
kidnapped, if you prefer, when WISPA folk - me included, didn't jump in 
and get it organized and turned into a for-profit fest. All the best to 
it, but there's room for some jetskis and a different venue. Give me 
some smokin' watercraft, decent water, and some blue skys, a few other 
WISPs to BS with and I'm set for a hell of a good feeling weekend+..


A get together has always aligned with the non-profit, have fun, limit 
salesmanship - other than to each other by our mutual, hard one 
experiences - which are very very valuable. Be it in a tent by the 
river/lake or in an urban setting.. (motorcycles or aircraft - I'll play 
pilot - I managed earn a commercial multi-engine instrument rating some 
years ago) Not the same as a bunch of screaming jetskis chasing down the 
yachts.. ha ha ha.. Of course I'm exaggerating a bit here... WISPA water 
gang goes crazy... I can see the headlines now...


Frankly, I *need* the vacation..

 $500.00 smackers is a bunch for meeting up with my wireless bud's. I am 
gonna attend the WISPCON this time around and I would really love to go 
to ISPCON. I talked to Larsen the other day and about it and that is my 
plans. I aint gonna pay no $500.00 to learn how to spell antenna, but I 
will spend $5K to meet up with some of y'all. We can get together and 
have our own grown up discussion about whatever we feel relevant - - -

  So - - You gonna make WispCon?  I will get the room with double beds 
and you can shack with me. We can trash the bar every night and eat all 
the donuts early in the morning while everyone else is learning about 
microwave paths and how to add up how many mw's make a watt!!  I do 
know that there are free buffets at certain hotels as well IF you can 
get to the 4th floor!! Damn - - I have turned into bad blood hanging 
with all these other ISP's
