Sorry, I missed your original message.
I've just taken a look at a list of stations that were active in the 2017
June 50MHz IARU Region 1 Contest. There were at least 30 stations with this
format of call sign. Over 3000 stations were active in this contest.

It could be a considerable amount Joe, Some countries in region 1 are small.
I Europe you can easily drive thru 5 countries in a day, And if you are in the
Balkans area you can
do it in half a day.
For VHF its very common for high ground suitable for contest operation to be
just over the border.
