(until the end of that TX period) which makes you think it is
still transmitting. However, if you listen to the tones you will find it
has actually stopped.
Probably useful to have a minor fix to turn off the bottom left hand TX:
message indicator at the same time as the tones are turned off.

Hi Bill
In case it helps I just did a test using PTT switching and PTT does drop
off (as well as the tones) at the time I click Halt TX even though the
TX: message indicator still shows it is TXing.

From my testing here on both XP

It seems that this bug may simply relate to the variable win-width

I you change the mode to ISCAT you will get a much faster waterfall
sideways that works well on 10 and 24 GHz aircraft scatter even though
it will not decode a JT4 beacon. But you can do both by running two
instances of WSJT-X.

ays should, I
think, meet both the regulatory requirement and the QSO requirement to
exchange both callsigns both ways. I would be reluctant to go back to the
JT65 method of sending OOO with a # sync as I much prefer a report which
conveys unknown information.

experience it is very rare for people to get confused by accidentally typing
in an @ symbol and in any case the message comes up Blue to warn you that
you have changed to ST messaging.

One more small item. At present JT65c on WSJT-X indicates a # sync for all
decode attempts whether they gain a valid sync or not as indicated by the

opinion that even a longer Costas array will not be as sensitive as
single tones.
Single tones are too wide to use at HF where you try to minimise the
bandwidth and should normally be used only with Doppler correction for EME
although you probably get away without Doppler correction at VHF.
