we did a pressure test years ago on the stock ford filter, a purolator, a
fram, and Ge nissan filter. We put known dirty oil with grit into the device
and pressure sqeezed the oil and grit through each filter. THe Fram tested
the best, then the Nissan, then the ford, then the Purolator. This was done
by a group of science students though, but they found that the oil was
cleaner with the Fram and Nissan OEM filter than any others. Just thought I
would let it known. I have always used fram filters in all the cars we had
and no problems ever occured. I think most filters are good except those
cheepees they use at Jiffy lube!
The fram tough gaurd holds the oil in the filter so the you have
no dry starts, I think that is good.
