<<I have been using the castrol synthetic with Fram filters, mostly out
of ignorance to the differences (my fault), but I change my oil
religiously ever 3k miles. My oil never looks dirty when I chnge it so
my question is, how much have I lost in doing my changes with Fram? I am
sure this is dumb question but looking for trouble spots now.

Marcus, I could not discribe myself better than you have. I have been
using Fram filters for the life of my car (even now I use Mobil 1
w/Fram) and have experienced no problems.

Am I saying that Fram is the best? No.

What I am saying is that Fram cannot be that bad if it has sustainged
the abuse that I have given my car.

Will it run my car into the 200k mark? I dunno. What I do know is that
now that I am informec, I will change my ways. If the OEM filter is what
I should be going with, then that gives me even more reason to believe
that Nissan knew what they were doing when they built my car.

It's nice to know that Nissan gave special attention to the ignition and
filtering system when designing our cars. Lord knows they ignored a
couple of other parts of the car when they designed it......
