Lecithin should have a light nutty flavor and it should not smell 'bad'. Again 
this (your product) may be an example of poorly processed product (poor QC), or 
the product may have been exposed to extremes in temperature during the 
shipping process that accelerated the degradation of what ever impurities there 
may be in the product.Someone else suggested that you not use it, I agree, if 
that little voice is telling you something is wrong...it may be right. 

I wish I could provide you with a retail brand name, but I haven't bought this 
product at retail for many years. We use it in the lab here, so I get it right 
from the manufacturer (10 kg at a time). We always keep it refrigerated, so I 
would suggest that you buy local so you have more control over the products 
quality. It sounds like one of the folks that replied has a good product...I 
don't recall if he provided a manufacturers name.
