This sounds like classic nickel allergy. I have it and react to all the
same things. I can wear 14 kt gold (yellow gold, I react to some white
gold) and I can wear sterling silver, but only if the entire earring is
sterling, and no other metal or alloy touches me at all. The backs of
watches bother me too.And sometimes the clasp of a sterling necklace or
the attachment rings to the clasp will be alloys to which I am
allergic. I have to make sure my eyeglasses have only plastic temples,
as metal temples give me raw sores where they touch.
The solution I found for ears is that for some 20 years I had two pair
of earrings. Good ones, but only 2 pairs. Even the special piercing
earrings which are stainless steel plated with 24 kt yellow gold could
cause me trouble, so as soon as I could I changed to very high quality
14 kt gold. You may be even more sensitive than I am it sounds like. To
this day (have had pierced ears for nearly 45 years, I dip all posts
and earring backs in rubbing alcohol before putting them on, and clean
them in it again before putting them away. I regularly soak them in it,
too, as well as still wipe my earlobes with it. For this purpose rubbing
alcohol is better than CS, because it evaporates quickly, and is drying.
CS is too wet and moisture around and under earrings and on the posts
can cause me a a problem, even iwth earrings that don't normally bother me.
I can't wear any cheap metal on me anywhere, so I have very little
jewelry. I have even gotten sores on my stomach from the snap at the
waist of a pair of jeans.

I tried pierced earings for several months they never healed at all.
I tried the alcohol and peroxide, but it kept getting worse. I was
putting earings through and more or less having to find a new hole
because of the swelling. I found nylon earings and tried them but by
that time the infection seemed to have such a strong hold I just gave
up and tried to let them grow in. Now I have holes front and back
with a large amount of scar tissue in the middle. I had hoped the
nylon would have eventually made things better but they never seemed
to get better until I took them right out. That was many years ago
before I know of SC. I can not tolerate any metal much but have not
tried anything expensive. I have trouble with the backs of watches as
well. I always have to look for plastic backs as even stainless steel
will make me break out.
