I know this is not the place to ask this, but what are other good options
to run for mail other then Sims? For OS 9 or OS X?
For OS 9? there are none.
For OS X? they are legion.
Of course, there's Communigator Pro, if you need the heavy duty feature set it brings. There re also many free solutions:
1) sendmail. the original. Obtuse and difficult at the best of times.
2) postfix a "drop in" replacement for sendmail. Does everything, is easier.
Still obtuse and difficult, but not nearly as much as sendmail.
3) exim Supposed to me a lot easier to understand than either of the others.
4) Courier I'm not real clear on this. I though tit was just an IMAP server,
but it appears to be more than that.
5) many many others, though those are the big ones, IME.
I use postfix because it can do everything that sendmail can do, except there is a chance I will be able to figure it out myself. I hold no such hope for sendmail.
