Hi Anand,

We are using a Total Recall recorder, which is not free or open source,
in an environment which uses sipXecs for call handling now. Commercial
enterprise class recorders are generally very expensive and we do not
wish to pay for one when it is time to replace the Total Recalls in the
next year or so.

My R&D team are working on a recorder (both active and passive SIP/RTP
capture) solution which is based on the sipX libraries (on top of
sipXcallLib and sipXmediaLib via sipXmediaAdapterLib). The active
recorder solution will be using a B2BUA (based on sipXtackLib), similar
to what is done in sipXacd.

So, in our case, we are not waiting for the release - basically we can
not afford to wait.

Your case may be different. If you can afford to wait, then why not do
it. I think someone mentioned that it will be in release 4.2, but they
also mentioned that the plans for 4.2 are volatile at this stage.

Even better, see if you can make a contribution to the sipX project. If
not, then if you really need an enterprise class recorder I suggest you
get one. In our case, the Total Recall product came at the right
feature-price combination.

I am sorry I can not be of more help. However, I am more than happy to
share our experience with the Total Recalls in a sipXecs environment
with you.

Subject: Re: [sipX-dev] Is Recording Facility Available In ACD Server?

Hi,

I am really interested in call recording facility of ACD server. So
for that what should I do, from where I should start.

Somebodies also suggested Call Recorder. Is any cost for all such
softwares or these are freely available on internet? Can I use these
Recorders with Sipxces?

Please tell me what is a right step to implement it or I should wait
for next release.

Thanks And Regards,
Anand.
