At the same time he has suggested (along with others) setting up a group of people to take "parts" of the polycom config before/after to document what changes would be needed and report back so developers can then have a fast-track of sorts to assist with the rewrite. There are a lot of features, but the real questions begin with how to support multiple versions and how to take advantage and document some of the new/cool features too. It's a big job. Everyone interested in 3.3.x support should consider donating some time to help...
