If i recall well from my limited dabbling in Houdini, that cloud shelf tool could get really slow quickly. That can obviously be easily remedied by knowing what you are doing :D That said i think it was quite fast to convert a mesh to vdb and add some fractals on top of it if you just want a quick solution for anything that is not a hero character.
