I agree too, there has been a very positive attitude in terms of listening, implementing new tools in a Softimage-esque fashion which, given there were no previous experiences on the Houdini community, was a very wise approach to take rather than reinvent the wheel for the sake of it (hello render layers, passes & overrides ;-)
And indeed I agree with you that H16 and beyond are extremely appealing to me and surely enough.
