> Russco, who had just finished reading his orders, added, "Admiral,

That pleased Kitanya most of all. These were people who understood the
gravity of what had come to them, and they were sobered, and perhaps even a
little frightened by it. That was good. That meant they would think about
that responsibility every time they gave an order that put lives in danger,
and they would not do so hastily or without reason.
"I'm surrre you will do well, gentlebeings. I can see by yourrr
rrreactions that I made the rrright choice." She stood, and stepped away
from the desk. "It's all yourrrs, Brrrevit Commanderrr," she said,
gesturing to the chair. "I have to be away to anotherrr post, so I leave
this in yourrr capable hands. Take carrre of yourrr people, Mrrr. Rrrusco.
They'rrre my people too, you know."
(resp?)
"Well, as yourrr firrrst act, you can grrarnt me perrrmission to deparrrt,"
she said, smiling.
(resp?)
"I have one little thing to do, and then I'll be away." She offered her
hand in the human gesture. "Good luck, Commanderrr."
(resp?)
She repeated the gesture to Trell. "Good luck, Lt."
(resp?)
She bowed to both of them in her culture's gesture of respect, then went
out into Ops. Going over to the communications console, she asked the
crewman in charge to step aside for a moment, then keyed the PA.
"Attention all hands. This is Vice Admirrral Kitanya. Underrr my
authorrrity as commanding admirrral of special operrrations, as of now,
Brrrevit Commanderrr Rrrusco is the new commanding officerrr of Grrranite
Outpost. Lt. Trrrell is the new executive officerrr. The orrrderrrs have
been posted to the post's databanks and arrre on theirrr way to Starrrfleet
Command. I would like to perrrsonally congrrratulate them as well as wish
them well in theirrr new positions. I feel you arrre all in good hands.
That is all." She signed off and thanked the communications officer and
headed back to her shuttle via her quarters, grabbing her small bag before
climibing in and heading out.

A little girl asked her father, "Daddy? Do all fairy tales begin with
'Once Upon A Time'?"
He replied, "No, there is a whole series of fairy tales that begin with
'If elected I promise'."
